How do I mine?

    Yesterday I saw sparkling trees as well as what looked like ore, but I couldn't chop or mine it. I either clicked on the hotkey that should have equipped a pick axe or other tool or dragged it from my bag to my avatar, but nothing happened when I clicked or double clicked on the resources.

    Is there something else I should be doing?

    Did the mouse change to the item you'd be using for gathering? If so, just double click the resource.

    Also nodes that have already been gathered still sparkle which can be confusing.
