How to create or convert music.

I do not know how to do it.

It was suggested to me to purchase a game called starbound and use it to create music or convert them. I purchase the game, but I do not see such an option. Soooo err how?

    Thank you!

Search for apps that convert whatever format you're using to abc. Then place them in the /sheet music (something like that) in your data folder (use /datafolder in game)
    Then /play filename

Starbound and Starbound Composer are 2 different programs ..BUT....You need to buy the game Starbound before you can use Starbound composer.

You can go HERE and get Starbound Composer after you purchase the game.

As well you can visit Shroudmusic.com for .abc files and other resources for in game music.

There's also the the Linux command line tool midi2abc. You could probably get that working in Windows without too much hassle.

--the free program "maestro" lets you save .midi files as .abc format (which is what sota uses for publishing songs). Yu can check the box by instruments you want to hear...sometimes the .midi file has too many instruments and does not sound good in sota. It took me a lot of downloading, and experimenting to get it to work. There are websites with lists of .midi, and .abc files.====also, you can play .mml files, but you cannot publish them in-game to give or sell.
