how to read a moon dial lore?

Is there lore in game that tells us how to read a moon dial? or are we supposed to just go to Kor's website?

 

It's just what symbols line up with which planetoids.

When one of the planets crosses a constellation that corresponds to a virtue, towns with that virtue's devotional come under siege. Each planet corresponds to a cabalist. Whichever planet (or planets) is triggering the siege determines which cabalist(s) show up. Sometimes you'd get a high level lich instead, but I haven't seen one in a while. I'm not sure if they don't show up any more, or show up instead of cabalists when you're a lower level. It might also be that if the alignment is over before you finish killing all the engineers, you get a lich instead, since there's no longer a planet determining who shows up.

 

I think the Lich now only show up if the town has no devotionals.
