I don't mean to be rude...

Honestly, I seem to miss a lot of social interaction. Someone will say something to me, or emote at me, and I'm not even aware of the person's presence. The tab window thingie pops up for any number of reasons, and my brain glosses over it unless I'm specifically looking for something.

Then I feel like an ass because I've effectively snubbed people.

It'd be nice if there's a more proactive signal. I'm thinking, for instance, that if someone says something near you, or emotes at you, that there's the sound of a person clearing his/her throat (probably with a cooldown timer, and toggle-able in the options).

 

In general, I agree that having *something* to show someone is talking/emoting to you would be beneficial. However, the only more annoying sound you could have picked would have been someone cutting their fingernails.

Put ellipses over their head if you are targeted and they start typing in /w or starts an emote. Play a "tick" sound, something like while you are charging an attack and it passes a level.

 

Agreed, I never see emotes because I have to turn that kind of chat off.

Maybe the solution is for emotes to have their own chat category and check box?

 

Having the tabs blink to indicate new messages in the channels that don't have focus would help, should be optional too.

i usually keep my chat window pinned so it doesnt close on me...that way i can see if someone says something...but alot of times they emote on the run and i dont get a chance to respond.

 

I'm pretty sure this is still going on at the Tavern in Brittany Estates.

 

Only a matter of time before they send in the mage to "Ring of Fire" everything.
