I gave it a try. Really tried, but I still hate this sound they give to combat weapons. I am making the following plea to have this changed.

    My sword now goes clickety-clack
Like a typewriter key or a train on a track
It's a sound I hope the Devs will sack
Please give me my old sword sound back

I think the draw weapon sound for wands sounds like a robot.

This is the first time I have heard combat sounds other than a crit noise. Hope it is work in progress because I liked silence better.

Agreed but I assume they are working on combat sounds based on how bad they are... (I hope)

It does sound exactly like someone typing. Not at all like weapons.

Wolves make that sound too, I am worried about the poor beasts... mayhaps they were very hungry?

I just look forward to when all the sounds are muted, no sounds play. I'm constantly getting they clickity clack of weapons, flame sounds, birds singing, etc. when everything is on mute. 8^p

It is normal for wolves --- they frequently snap a mouth producing a very distinctive teeth snapping sound.

Now, if you hear it again, as an amateur naturalist I have to ask you to inspect them thoroughly: a "typewriter" sound may indicate that their tooth fillings are made from a sub-par material, namely lead. While we usually use safe materials as tooth filling: gold, silver, porcelain, resin, and so on, in medieval times old-time dentists could use lead, which is very detrimental to one's health. If your inspection discovered that poor creatures have lead fillings, immediately direct them to a reputable dentist in the area. Their prey can wait, their health cannot.

The same can happen with bears as well. So if during your playdate you hear a "typewriter" sound, please stop fighting, and inspect animals as directed above. No killing until the lead problem is fixed. Only then, poor animals can die healthy.

I second this. Its a little known fact that pristine animal heads don't pop on the loot table for animals with lead fillings. It causes hair to fall out, mouths sores, and all manner of bad things.

I agree- the sound is not good. I don't know if all the weapons sound the same.. but my sword resembles someone saying "psst" before they're about to whisper something. Maybe it's supposed to be the sound of me swinging the sword through the air which would make sense if I'm not hitting anything.. but the sound is consistent whether I hit a creature or not. Hopefully this is just some kind of placeholder sound until a better one is put in.

I think the sound is not the sound of the weapon but the sound of the aftermath, the blood spurting out of ones body, or the body of the creature one is fighting.
Skellies don't make any sound when they are hit(the sound you might hear is the damage you have taken) but those bloody zombies sound like a typewriter.

I have noticed it when I wasn't fighting at all but still had a spell, etc., in effect doing damage to me. You can hear the sound at the exact moment you can see the spurt of blood.

I don't think there is any sounds yet for weapon strikes( except maybe critical hits? ). I can only hear the missed strikes and the blood spurts.

I only use swords... maybe there are sounds for other weapons?

The polearm sound is dreadful except for the martial art swing sound Swoosh!
The ping, dink tearing up a piece of paper is aweful
