also i believe it will be more like an episode every 2 years - i think LB said the plan is ten years total at this point

 

Hope we will get some player controlled ships in the future aswell.

With the tech, possible aswell some nice steam powered ships.

 

Yep, that was the latest I heard too.. Initially I thought they said annual release schedule, I guess we'll see how that goes... maybe he is erring on the side of caution with a 2 year window.. WoW doesn't seem to release them consistently, but averaging close to 2 years between expansions.

 

I personally believe that a release every two years is pretty healthy...
It provides enough time for them to develop a worthy expansion to experience while allowing enough time for the player base to enjoy the existing content without feeling rushed - at least for the normal/casual population...
To me, the first year or two of any online game are the best and it goes down hill, BIG TIME, from there. My reasoning stems from the poor content that most companies deliver upon forced expansions... If there are going to be expansions, let them be meaningful and worthy of play that will equal or surpass the original content.. Else, honestly, I rather stick to the original game with small patches and minor content releases that will keep the experience fresh and in all its glory..

The graphical work alone is priceless!! I thought of you when I was at Disney World. The ride It's a Small World my daughter loves and I'm not sure how many times I went on it. Right in the middle they have a purple llama standing up on a mountain. I couldn't get a picture but the chaos llama is definitely there!

 

This game needs to have sailing.

Currently there is NO decent sailing in any MMO where you can sail, plunder and participate in ship to ship combat with a crew of fellow players. Even Archeage is lacking somewhat..a good range of 17th century/medieval sailing ships are a definite must. Why go to all this trouble to make an innovative, one of a kind game and leave out sea combat? It opens up the possibility of trading ports, fishing, navies....everything. Sailing with a player crew is essential to this experience.

The best available experience for online sailing with a crew of players shut down in 2013, Pirates of the Caribbean Online a Disney game.

 

gonna go out on a limb here and say that because of their world map thing, we wont see boats in the same way we saw them in UO

we can only hope we will have overworld boats, and open sea "areas" we can go to

 

I know they've said they want to see proper sailing and even ship combat eventually. But it doesn't like we'll have it in Episode 1.
