Thanks @Lained, I looked on sotawiki and they had all of the gems listed except air.

 

If I were to use 3x gems + food, that would be the equivalent of 220 summon air elemental. Is it even possible to have more than 200 skill with buffs?

 

I've never been anywhere near 200 skill in anything, but I was under the impression there are still no hard caps so I would be surprised if you can't exceed 200. The diminishing return/soft cap is supposed to be the mechanism by which god mode is kept unattainable.

I don't even know whether there's a way to view your effective skill level taking buffs into account? I only ever check my trained levels in the skills window.

 

greetings! i am working towards testing that with the earth summoner build i have going (i am so close) but havent hit 200 yet. if you have Q/A downloaded maybe try it there first to see and if you cant go over 200 then maybe can save you a gem slot. i would be very interested in the results.

Too bad all the info in that SS isn't somehow listed in our game, or even player help..........

interesting thank you for taking the time to confirm that! im curious when you mouse over the name what does creature level say in both cases?

 

Good to know skills can go beyond 200 with buffs.

It would be nice to have a special tooltip for skills with bonuses, showing the base level and, in other color, +n for the levels gained through buffs and gear, showing the final effect where applicable.

Just for fun, I increased the skill's experience 10x and it was still 200 when I loaded the savegame, so skills are absolutely capped at 200. It is good that limit doesn't apply to buffs though.

 

yeah the math is there for 200+, but we weren't supposed to hit that any time soon. so love it, use it. hehe. Mobs can have way over 200 in a skill. so be happy...they can keep up...lol....

 

I finally got enough gems to make a set of summoning gear. Here's the result with gingerbread, 140 Summon Air Elemental, 120 Train Summon Pet Damage and 120 Train Summon Pet Resistance.

 

What kind of DPS levels can it achieve against training dummies?

It's better now. I'm at least getting more criticals. I'm not seeing any stuns though but the icon just might not be showing up.

I'm sure other summoned pets are better (like earth elemental).
