If you are going to saw, Block player or turn of PvP messages just don't bother, you point is understood but useless.

Soo yesterday there was an event held to help out the community and get people together to learn about some for the larger guilds in the game at this time.

There where players PvPing and others just plain being idiots, really a conversation about Vaping?, while someone is trying to talk about their community. These action do not bring ANYTHING to the event and actually prove again some of the points against OPEN PvP.

You have the right to be immature and imbeciles all you want but the Owner / event organizer should have the ability to just plain REMOVE you from the area, so your anticks do NOT interrupt what is actually going on.

The problem is understood, but I am not convinced the solution it a good. This idea could be used in very bad ways that affect the overall game play. Also, what happens when the event is not on a lot?

This has been stated to be in the plans several times in the hangouts etc.

Right now we have access rights to all lots, including using peoples crafting tables etc
But later on there will be ways to have private property private.

Me I'd rather have spells and items for things like this.

Then you have made that choice and the event is then open to the public.
If you want a private event it should be on private property.

The undesirable could just stand at the lot border and continue. But this time, they will probably be really pissed and even more obtuse.

    Some other options:

    1. How about just allowing the lot owner to turn PvP on for people on your property whom have been warned once before? This could keep them flagged for 5 minutes, so they can still be attacked off property. This will not help on public lands though.

    2. Giving the PoT owner (or delegates) the ability to put someone in the clink for 5 minutes if the lot owner and town owner agree on it.

    3. Allow the serving of citations (with fines) by the guards as a public nuisance if 4 or more people agree and all are in a reasonable proximity.

Some of the players involved in the conversation in question had been playing the game for less than a day, i rounded up people from Braemer and took them to the event to include them since new players are rarely aware of events. They are not yet familiar with who is who and did not know the difference between the general conversation that had been going on about people wanting pipes in game and Winfield getting proceedings under way until i individually PM'ed them, at which point they stopped. Banning them from the property seems about as much of an over reaction as beheading somebody for opening a noisy packet of chips in a theatre, especially considering the intended purpose of the WELCOME quest. Yes it was annoying but that is not a reasonable reaction. The people in question have attended every single scheduled event they have been online for since they started playing and have been well behaved and excited to contribute, i added some of them to my guild where they get the help and guidance they deserve. The PKers that keep trying to gank scheduled events however... are butt-faces.

TL I Pm'ed one f them specifically and asked him to talk about it in private and he kept going after that I would have booted him. I am tolerant to a point, then OFF WITH THEIR HEADS LoL

If I had ANYTHING to do with these disturbing events, know that I was completely hammered and don't remember a thing. Also, pics or it didn't happen.

I believe you will be able to keep people out of a player owned town, but I'm not sure how you will accomplish that in a lot/house.

Houses don't all have gates/fences you can lock. Even if you did, people can jump from another property over a fence. How do you propose keeping people off a lot if you don't want them there?

I agree there should and probably will be a mechanism for this. But until then you can block/ignore them. it will at least work for you as an individual.

Completely agree with the basic premise of the OP. If you want to ban someone, for any reason, from your property, you should be able to do so.

If they sit outside your gate and mock you, so be it.

It's the old "ban" command from UO. Must have.

Yep... we will need to have that - and I'm sure it will come sooner rather than later as population grows..

I am guessing that in final release, if you have someone on a block list, they will have a lower chance of spawning in your same instance. Could get complicated with events, but if its a big enough event, there will be limited slots in the instance anyway.

Seriously, please do not make it easy to block the world from a lot. I really dislike mmo's where every lot is an obstacle.

This is a terrible idea that can easily be abused.
