I think it might change some thing drastically on the overworld map. It seems they are not going to implement a fog or war? how about layer of dust everywhere?

As the world with Novia is the center of the solar system (as the Sun orbits the planet) - this giant object does itself seem to be in an orbit, and instead of a direct straight impact, would either scrape the edge of the atmosphere and impact the surface with a deep gouge... does this impact statement make more sense than just a straight collision?

 

As of 2/26/18, the meteor showers have REALLY picked up intensity. It's worth taking an evening or two out in the Overworld Map just to watch them.

One night ingame I even caught one low flying meteor that streaked all the way from horizon to horizon without disappearing like most.

 

Yeah, I saw this a couple days ago. A meteorite traveled over head and kept going. It looked like it went over the horizon. It looked really cool!

 

The meteors can be seen during the daytime too.

I hope this does not mean any sort of a wipe.
a) We were promised persistence; that what we were working towards was not going to be wiped going forward.
b) RMT where one person spends real money to purchase an in-game item from another person would be voided. Add-On store purchased items would revert to their original owners after a wipe if the item was merely traded from one person to another.
c) A wipe at this point would cause a good deal of backers to become angry/leave the game, after all they've worked for (skill ups, crafting materials, lot placement, etc) would be wiped out.

I don't think a wipe will happen. Too many major negative connotations if it happens.

 

It has been foretold through Obsidian lore of old, that a new cataclysm would befall New Britannia, at time when the virtues have been forsaken and Outlanders roam the countryside! The whole world will be changed by this impending doom! I beseech you to find safety within one of the many Obsidian bunkers found throughout New Britannia! They will be your only safe haven. For even an Avatar cannot survive the impact of the devastation about to be unleashed.

 

I PREDICT: The new cataclysm will happen the day before release, and the world will be invaded by Cabalists. The entire world. Cabalists will be sieging every town on the map; they'll also engage players in towns as well. They will come to your houses within NPC, PRT, and POT towns and fight you and kill you. We will all die many, many times. On Release Day, the Cabalist threat will have been stopped/delayed, but there will be a "fog of war" mist covering the entire Overworld map. This will only clear up when your character has visited that portion of the map again. All will have to be re-discovered. (No wipe and no decay, though!)

NOTE: My prediction is worth about as much as you paid for it! LOL

 

Forgot about the underground zones. We have a meteor shelter close to blackrock cove phew.

 

I'm not worried ... Ben and Bruce to save the day ...
