Incoming: Selling to Merchants Will Be Temporarily Disabled

Hello everyone.

We are working to implement a fix for a recent change to merchant refunds (selling items to merchants for gold). This process will require a server update, which will remove access to the refund system until the new patch is released later this afternoon.

Wanted to let y'all know that there's no reason for panic if at a moment's notice items don't appear to be selling to merchants correctly.

If I understand this correctly, you are saying that temporarily we cannot or may have trouble selling items to merchants?

If the above is correct, I find the term "refund" confuses what is being communicated. A refund is generally returning an item you have purchased, so my first thought was perhaps selling add-on items to a crowns merchant or something.

 

Also, this might be an odd place for this type of message to be placed. The Bug forums are hidden from the New Posts list by default, so unless they are using the Dev Tracker, players won't see this. Maybe move this to Annoucements?

 

It's an internal term used. Apologies, you're correct. Simply selling to merchants any item.

 

We intend to do so, or so I suspect. My immediate concern was to guard against a bug flood given the knowledge I was handed at the time.

 

Or have it in both places, so that those who might be coming here directly to post a bug report won't miss it despite not looking at the announcements first?

I was plain lucky to have seen this message 2 hours after it was posted.

Any Idea when this will be working again? It's Saturday morning and I'm still not able to sell stuff - or is my problem something different?

What I'm seeing is that we can't "sign" the receipts for transactions???
