    10 times!!! - seriously - would be good i then would loose 200k and it would feel like a real softcap, i would need to play a week or two to get that back. would be cool!!!
    We maybe need it be 20 times to bring some hardcore grinders back in a mediocre line?

    Make fun all you want, the decay feature has made this game suck. Introduce SOTA to the masses in March, and witness the confusion, hostility and uninstalls that decay creates. :( For every one of you fanboys who defends decay, they'll lose a multiple of new players. Last chance ..... March is just around the corner .....

    Naw, didn't quite go far enough. Perma-death from any death, everyone locked in PVP multiplayer, full loot, all items character bound so when you die you lost everything as well, bank, house, or elsewhere. That'll make the 200 GM toons really stand out.

    Was not Fun, i really like it and i want caps, at least a working softcap.
    But damn Starman said he didnt die more often than 3 or 4 times.

    Edit: i believe they lost a lot of Ultima and/ or UO Fans long ago and as the game is already judged and had a bad reputation comparable to hello games NMS, it's more about it's nor an Ultima neither a UO'ish game.
    It sure is a spiritual successor, but a bad compromise in many aspects if you compare to Ultima 4-7 or UO.
    This is and will be the cause of the very niche the game hopefully survives.
    But i have great doubt.

    Would instantly try it. But i then would sell my house and all that expensive stuff.

    At this point I just think your trying to antagonize the boards wii controverial topics to elicit negative responses. In on thread complain about not having enough playtime to grind out exp and in the next wanting the penalty for death to be more grinding you don’t have time for.

    After 4 deaths you dont loose any more exp

    edit - wasnt sure if you wanted more death decay or less, oh well.


    on another note, it doesn't matter what ADV you are, you can always make back loss exp in 20-30 minutes if you are playing the right way. 1 hour for top players

    Not with his plan of 10X to 20X the penalty. Top players would loose like 10-20 million a death.

    That is a common misconception. Each death you lose your decay, but after four it is usually negligible and not noticed.

    Basically decay is accumulated per hour without death up to a max of 24. Then on Rez and your hours of decay is either cut in half when rezed at ankh or cut to 3/4 if Player Rezed.

    1st is 24 hours x (decay ratio x Applied Exp)
    2nd is 12
    Then 6
    Then 3
    Then 2
    Then 1.....
    And always round .5 up to 1 will continue with 1 hour worth of decay


    The other misconception is making up exp in 20-30 minutes no matter what adventure level. Although this is accurate if you built the right skills up when you hit level 80-100. There are many characters in that range that can not farm 100k+ an hour without the risk of additional death. Once you have the right skills or finally pass those pain-stacking levels through tedious grinding then it does get easier. But there is another big gap dues to limited areas that can produce large amounts of EXP after 100 where you really need a good group of players to earn back what you lose in an hour.
