You don't HAVE to spend $30. Just because there is an option for people with more money than sense to do it doesn't mean you "have" to. Just reapir it to your value threshold then get new gear. Easy.

Not what I'm saying. If one weapon type wears out super fast compared to other weapon types, that may need to be adjusted depending on the materials required to make that type of weapon/total damage it can do. (Nothing to do with COTO costs) Archers already have to buy arrows, if their weapons are getting destroyed 5x faster than any other group and it's not much cheaper in materials to make them.. it doesn't make a lot of sense.

That's right - nobody will, and nobody is going to be buying anyone's nicely crafted gear either.

I craft weapon and armor and I spent ten of thousands of ores to level. I can't imagine being good at something and in the end someone telling me sorry there is no point being good. Just craft the mediocre weapons and armor, they sell better.

    Oh ofc people will.
People will sell cotos for gold. People with gold will buy the cotos to repair their stuff.
It has always worked liked that with a tradable premium currency.

Hey maybe soon we can look forward to buying some nice high level gear from the addon store so we don't have to repair things all the time :3

Then I hope you are one of those people. We really need your kind so the game will survive.

It works with ST:O. It works with EvE. Parts of it work in WoW or Swtor.
It's not like this concept is new.
But yes i am buying and selling cotos from time to time ^^

If no one ever has to buy new gear (as it is now) what are you selling? 1 set of great gear to everyone. In the new model, people will still want that one great set of gear, but they'll also want more sets of gear that aren't quite as nice.

So you're saying just a tiny handful of players are going to be holding this game together and keeping the gold economy active.

Everyone else can play ghetto mode with rubbish gear.

Yes. That's how it works with f2p games.

Nope i am not saying that.
Don't try to turn my words to fuel your little rebellion.
You are entitled to hate this system.
But i don't have to agree with you ;-)

I am not against taking gears out of the system. In fact I think we are heading in the right direction. But why coto repair, why not gold repair? Why not a repair breakage rng? If high end weapon needs money to substain, aren't we threading the line "pay to win"?

We have a few very dedicated crafters with high skills in our guild.

This will be without doubt the most expensive f2p game ever created...I expect there will be about 20 people playing it by time the devs add in all these exciting new mechanics...I only hope they charge enough COTO taxes for running the server with just these 20 guys fueling their paychecks.

You can place your hands over your ears and go lalalala yes.

That'S the interesstingg question that always pops up.
It depends on how you define pay2win.
In my opinion you can pay with your time as well. If you have a lot of time you can grind a lot of gold. With that gold you can bbuy cotos that you can use which ever way you like.
People that don't have time to play usually have money. They will sell you the cotos for their gold.
And then there is the middle ground. People with an average time/money ratio.
They can get all they want too. They will just need longer.

By "everybody else" you mean you and the other two guys? Because I'm seeing myself in the majority viewpoint here.

That's only if there are people who will buy add on store coto and sell them for in game gold. And they can sell the in game gold for profit. Else eventually the in game coto will not be enough to fuel the taxes and repairs. At that stage, we do pray you still be stocking your coto vendor.
