i am getting thrown into the Offline Mode upon choosing "Play Online" from the Main Menu and Steam login.

EDIT:
I restarted the client and after that I was able to login to the Online mode.

Steps to Reproduce:
1) Choose "Play Online" from the Main Menu
2) Login with your Steam account
Result:
Offline Mode
Expected:
Online Mode

User Specs:
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
QA.Win.64.513

 

Did you have any browsers open from using /devbug or /bug previously when this happened, by chance? It seems there is a new steam related bug: it will recognize the client as running if these windows are open. I suspect this is related as that is also fixed by restarting steam. Do you ever log into offline mode in general - in case it incorrectly remembered that?

I don't know and I don't remember.

I have been logging into the Offline Mode in each Release since several Releases ago.
QA R43 is the first time, when I encountered this issue.
I am believing in that this is something new to QA R43 and it did not exist before QA R43.

 

Definitely let us know if you see this again. We're already working on newer builds. I'm sorry for the trouble
