This is one of those "I know its very early but just so it doesn't get overlooked..." suggestions -

Something that needs to be worked on - interior wall shading. Every wall surface is the same shade regardless of the position of the wall. Every time I went into a large house, I COULD NOT FIND THE STAIRS because all the walls were the same color.

    Examples with possible solutions:

I think there just needs to be framework around the stairwell to indicate that it is a door. I agree that the stairs are very hard to see.

Alot of this could be dependent on the graphic settings you are using.

Good lord, Lori. Cover yourself, girl! ;)

There was definitely a lot more detail in my game, but I would agree the house designs did tend to hide some of the stairs. I think things would get better after decorating as you could place lights and paintings to help frame them.

I started off with the highest settings. At some point I bumped it down a notch to see if it would help with choppiness (it didn't). But this was near top-level.

I think this is because the interior is not lit. Light from the outside is not coming in through those windows, so you don't see any different shading on the floor or walls. Hopefully once they resolve that issue, the interior lighting will create those shadows and especially so if you have ambient occlusion turned on. Maybe a Unity expert who's played with the just released Village house assets can comment?

Not an expert but I can load it up and look at it. However, I think those are city or town houses and we just got released the village ones, so I am not sure if that had the same problems.

@Dame Lori, out of curiosity what video card do you use and what resolution do you play in?

I had the same issue, I got lost in the Lord of the Manor house and couldn't find how to get out for a good 2 min because I was stuck on level 2

    Rawr. ;)

I think the interior of the houses should have more shadows during daytime than we have experienced thus far. As it was now it seems as if the sun shone through the roof and every wall, removing some/all shadows. I quite liked the ambiance inside at night when having candles or torches around, though. I'd think this is already on their to-do list, but it does not hurt to bring it into the light. ;)

I see what you did there. ;)

But yes, I can see the need for something to make some places stand out in the houses considering who every wall blends in.

Darkstarr (I think) said it was an issue with the interior lighting not being done yet...but it was hard on the eyes for sure...unlike dame lori;)

I could not help myself. :p

In my opinion it's not just to make some places stand out more, but to also have a little more realistic lighting inside. It's just not realistic having all of the interior lighted exactly the same during daytime.

I think the good news is that things can only get better with time as we watch development continue.

I am going to hang a certain picture on the wall next to the stair entrance/exit. Problem solved for me.
