Hey Exult is great! I was playing through U7 but much better with Exult. Thanks for sharing.
I definitely don't. Even less than five years ago you had to have had a separate x86 computer running Win98 with a full set of bootdiscs because there really was no other way to get them to run before the GoG wave! And even then it's thanks to DosBox and other emulators...
I think we're in a pretty good age
How do you make it so that your team members don't ever have to eat?
I'm not sure if there's a cheat for that or not. There is a cheat menu though. I think it's f2 to open it... not sure... I don't use it.
Currently up to Level 5 of Ultima Underworld - The Stygean Abyss, thanks to GoG.
A great game to replay.
That's another one that I played right til the end and never finished. I was at the last door and was missing a key component. No way was I wandering over every inch of all the previous levels to find it.
I can't replay it. The controls, were pretty revolutionary at the time, but are simply painful now.
It's awesome to see someone is playing this. I had a great experience with Ultima: Lazarus (the Warriors of Destiny remake) and just started this one not too long ago myself. I haven't had much time to devote to it as of yet, but I'd like to get back into it! I was about 8 years old when Ultima V came out for the PC and I was engulfed in the NES at that time. My first Ultima experience actually came courtesy of that console in the form of Quest of the Avatar
I was late to the party on a lot of the PC Ultima games and just finished Ascension for the first time a little less than a year ago lol. It's pretty damn fun to be a part of this community where we can all discuss Ultima RPG goodness though.
Well mondain died again yesterday
Lol! Good. Now I don't have to do it. ;D
^ Now who is going to get his shards in Ultima V? They're all over the place and those Shadowlords must be stopped lol
I just have to say, I've been playing UO Great Lakes the last couple of days to burn time until Shroud comes out. Been very surprised at the people I've met. First night I'm tooling around in Haven and someone (Victoria of GFO or GOF, can't remember) walks up to me and chats for a little bit, hands me a check for 100k gold and tells me to pay it forward when I can. Ok, pleasant surprise and very much appreciated. So last night, same thing, running around Haven someone (Austin of "Y") comes up and chats me up and asks me if I'm a mage. Tells me they'll be back in half hour or so. Comes back and gives me a full new mage LCR set, imbued, resist and insured set and an extra 25k gold for extra insurance, full scrapper compendium, several rune books, etc. Then takes a couple of hours of their time to show me some good hunting grounds, and explain the changes that have taken place since the last time I played and answer any questions.
I hope that I can be as helpful to people in Shroud as the people in UO have been to me, now and in the past.
That is some inspiring stuff! Thanks for sharing.
The only major bug I see in exult so far is spark's paperdoll... he's got like this little boy head on a really muscular/masculine adult bod. It looks like puberty hit him really hard and early, but didn't touch him above the neck.
It looks like they just took all the paperdolls and kept the head but gave everyone a toned up adult male bod. It looks good on iolo. I dunno how its gonna look on jaana or Mariah or whatever woman joins the party first in U7...
Women have their own paper dolls. They're just the paper dolls from SI. Since there were no children available to your party in SI, there were no appropriate paper dolls for sparks, so they just manned him up!
It never really bothers me, since I ditch the lad as soon as I find Dupre.
No way that I know of to make hunger go away, but if you press ctrl+alt+H, it will heal your party and fill the food stat on everybody. Be careful though. Using these cheats to often can really take the fun out of the game. I ended up near the end and realized that I hadn't really been playing the game, just playing with the cheats. I am currently going through 7 and 7 part 2 with absolutely no cheats. In the end I think the it makes for a much more fun experience.
Way to man-up bro. *Wipes tear from his eye* My little Sparks is growing into a Shamino.... Well, maybe not Shamino... but at least a Chuckles.
This is what happens when you post on the same site that your brother is on. We have a running argument about the value of cheat options in games.
This is also what happens:
I remember playing Ultima II on a 64k Apple II+. I stole the spacesuit in town, managed to make it out of town without getting guard whacked, found a space ship and blasted off to planet X. It was so cool. I'll never forget it. I played all
the Ultima games and still Play UO!
A true classic. You wouldn't think it would be hard to remake...
