Is it just me or are the forums hurting for new material

I love you.

 

The game is at it's lowest population since persistence. Without people playing there isn't much to talk about. Hopefully they find a way to get people back upon release.

My problem is besides the quest lines (that weren't really fun) there just isn't much to do in the game besides grind.

 

There are tons of folks playing. Most backers don't play on steam, after all.

 

If theres tons of people playing id have to assume its in single player or friends only mode. I can honestly say in the last 2 years ive only seen maybe and this might be a stretch 10-20 players in a scene? Unless it was a scheduled event, at those i did see alot of people plus the devs including lord british, but yeah outside those it feels lifeless in multiplayer.

Even the events are lifeless unless you enjoy costumes, dancing around, and people casting fire type spells everywhere... its kind of strange to me maybe its not my niche but ive always liked MMOS and being social in guilds raiding/pvping/events/ even rping. SOTA though the vibe i get at those events are just odd, thats why i only attended maybe one or two at the most.

 

Not sure were playing the same game, then. I'm running into people all the time.

Like I said, it fluctuates based on the proximity of the release.

What do you guess the population is? Daily logins.

Just curious if you had to actually list a number what it would be.

My question is to him specifically, since *most backers don't use steam* means he disregards steam count. Which fine.
So for someone making that claim.. im curious what he, personally thinks the number is.

I don’t use Steam. Don’t see the need to use a portal app to start a game when I don’t need to do so.

From that link it claims SoTA peaks at 134 congruent. Chris said, the last I saw, that SotA has 500 congruent.

Guess there is some merit to the statement that most don’t use Steam. Unless the population took a major dive after the 500 comment, of course.

 

Hehehe and my point was that they claim about 500 active daily members.
Now i mean the last look at alts and how many people r loggin in numerous accounts..
Even ignoring all that.
Steam was a good 20-25%of that makeup or total.. kinda on par with what was speculated before.

So even still.. if rhe steam is degrading n decreasing its pretty safe to assume that the total is.

That all being said? I do wish them a successful launch, i just personally dont have that confidence. And i definitly challenge his definition of *tons of people * when they openly said 500 was the number .. months ago.. and evrrything poonts at a steady decrease.

I do expect a massive influx with launch.. as to the retain rate.. dif story.

 

...yeah. I would love to see some third-party verified numbers.

 

Player Unknown has broken the steam record @ 1.3 million concurrent users... and its not that good IMO... strange era we live in.

 

I think it's just because we are all a more mature, distinguished and cultured type of gamer lol

So is 500 ( lets round up) is 700 a lot of players for a game like SoTa?

Like i said.. i hope they do well at launch, but i feel like the monthly decline could have at least been slown by more communication, and clearer communication from the devs.

People will naturally gravitate towards completed games so lets not forget that there are some pretty good games released recently... like the crowd favourite "Divinity 2".

I'm not one to care too much about the numbers; primarily because they hardly tell the full story.

 

That's what he said... they could easily put the current online player count up on the website like Battlefield does. Then we could actually see the count (steam and non steam players)
