We need to be able to set the "No sale / No Destroy / No Salvage" flag on an item we own. It is far too easy to accidentally lose a valuable item. The recent change to the Repair/Salvage buttons was very helpful but it is still easy to accidentally Salvage a valuable item. It is also way to easy to accidentally sell an item and I have even accidentally deleted an item due to latency and mis-clicking.

I know this has been mentioned before but I think this is something that should be addressed sooner rather than later.

That is a great idea, I haven't "Miss-Clicked" yet but I know some day I will and I'll lose something important. I'd be willing to offer all the Dev's a night out with free drinks if they can make this happen.:D

I'll tell ya another "gear button" I'm paranoid of is the one on the sign for your Lot. I think if you are giving up your lot it should ask you multiple times.

    Un-Deed Lot? y/n
    Are you sure? y/n
    Are you absolutely sure? y/n
Are you on any medications or have you been drinking tonight? y/n
Do you have a note from your Mommy? y/n

If you answered No to any of the questions above you are too drunk or stoned to make this decision, please try again tomorrow. (Then set an in game timer)

I agree that salvaging is risky currently but not so much accidentally destroying or selling. Both of those actions are followed by at least one prompt that I can click out of.

Get a small bag and place 'valuable' items in it while crafting.

While this works for salvaging it doesn't work while selling items to vendor.

I agree....see my wish, where I show a way to implement locking an item in your inventory.

Yes, yes, yes. I vote for do not destroy and do not sell flags for items. I have to really concentrate on not selling or salvaging my new 2 handed axe if I forget to equip it after repairing it ;)

I have accidentally included an enchanted, masterworked sword with a crit into the selling window of an NPC and sold it for a pittance. It is not a nice feeling. I spent hours mining the silver that resulted in that sword!

In my opinion the fact that it can easily happen is reason enough to provide a guaranteed way to prevent it.

I wish that would work... but all items are listed in the 'sell' screen, and it doesn't matter if they are in a container or not, while the container itself and its contents aren't listed seperately at all.

All you get when selling is a list of ALL items contained in your inventory. When you are trying to sell 60 war hammers/halberds, it's very easy to include an item you didn't intend to in the sell column. Lost a 2 handed +8 banish undead Sword that way

The simple fix is to ask an explicit permission for all "Crafted by Someone" items, on irreversible operations.

I imagine that wouldn't be a nice feeling, considering I'm a miner myself. In reviewing this, I actually didn't think of selling to a merchant but selling (listing) items on a vendor. I do agree that there may be a need for more security when selling a to a merchant.
