Jewelled Longswords? Can we still craft these

Hi there, recently attempted to craft a Jewelled Longsword. Made an Iron Longsword, had the other pieces given in the known recipe, that is 1 lump coal and the 2 emeralds and 2 garnets as well as the smithing hammer, but no receipe. Does anyone know if this has been removed from the game as a craftable item?

 

They changed the mechanics of this. You gave to create the gem socket, and add it to the crafted blade in a separate combine.

To my knowledge, the jeweled long sword is in fact removed from the game. The socketing of a specific gem into an item now falls into the enchanting side of things and I don't think it changes the way they look anymore. It'd be awesome if you could use gem fragments to recreate the jeweled sword as an ornamental weapon, but not sure what, if any, plans there are for that.

Yeah my favorite weapon of the game was the 2H great sword that went away about 10 releases ago. It was like an over sized scimitar with notches on the back. Super sexy with the build I was doing at the time. Hope they bring back some of the nice designs they had (or replace them with something else nice and unique looking).

 

Yes, my favorite thing about the weapons of old was the fire, and lightning effects on those weapons with the gem put in.

 

i actually had a few of those stashed, i stole them from skrekk right after wipe. they've stealth-deleted them.

 

Is the long sword just missing and forgotten to put back in the game? If this is the case a bug report about it could serve as a reminder, it has happened before or @DarkStarr is the Long Sword coming back to the game?

 

I just found one of these randomly. Id like to be able to turn it into a pattern.

 

and it's a broken item, cant be equipped or used as a housing item even though its listed in both tabs of the inventory, has stats like a normal longsword and doesn't give any reason why it cant be equipped or placed.

The only thing I could find on the item once I found it was this topic.

 

It used to be higher stats then the traditional longsword originally. Kind if like the crit value of the shortsword and 8-19 damage. Back in the r18 days.

Sadly this is no more.
