Known issue with repeatable quests (mail and Oracle)

Right now quests that are repeatable will fail if repeated. This affects both the Oracle virtue test and all mail quests.

If you have already done the Oracle virtue test and do not want to wait an extra day, please wait to do so until we announce this has been fixed (it will be a server-side fix, not requiring a new patch).

If you have already done a mail delivery, please DO NOT try to reset your mail delivery status until this has been fixed. We will push the ability for you reset this again this release, but that WILL require a future patch and will almost certainly not be available until next week.

Apologies for the inconvienence! This is part of making the game safer and more stable, but occasionally we'll stub our toes on rocks when running.

 

I had no idea that the Oracle was not working and mail offered no gold until just now when I did both. Will wait for the patch.

 

uh oh... please fix the oracle ASAP, they are many of us who use her to pay lot taxes.

 

The oracle usually resumes correct behavior if you exit and resume your game.

 

I just did and now she says nothing I will try in multi and see.
Just like last night she says here is your reward and gives nothing Just like the town criers .

 

That would explain why the oracle didn't give me my 500xp & 500gp just now. I mean - she says gave me stuff, but it didn't show up. Much sadness.

 

Yes, the oracle is talking now, but when it says here is your 500 gold and 500 experience points, I dont see them increasing in my inventory or skills screens. Apparently that is the part of the bug that is the known bug they are working on.

 

You should be able to get 500g/500xp from the Oracle as normally (though if you passed a test and got no reward, you will have to wait 24h from that time to get your 'next' one).

 

This broke again at midnight UTC (7pm EST). I logged in earlier today, and got my 500/500. When I tried again just now, the Oracle tested me, but did not give the gift.

 

I believe what they are saying is it will only work once every 24 hours from the last time you did the test. So if you did it earlier today, you won't be able to do it again until 24 hours later, regardless of what the Oracle says. That's my current understanding anyhow.

Oracle seems broken again...took Test approx. 5-minutes ago, and passed...Oracle claimed to give me the "reward", but I received nothing. Screenshot below.

I am going to take a wild guess here. @Lum the Mad , please take a look.

I am totally guessing, but on the next day after, I was able to get the Oracle to work again. Is it possible that the back-end XP check is doing a 24-hour window? And is it also possible that the Dev that did that work didn't realize that in R35 the Oracle quest was moved from being a 24-hour window of refresh to a midnight refresh? So now the Oracle will allow to ask for the test at midnight (UTC), but if it's been < 24 hours since the last time, the new code will keep the reward from being given?

As mentioned in the feedback thread this is indeed a server issue (checking 24 hours vs midnight) and will be fixed via server push soon.

 

But if the timer is checking 24-hours since my last Test, vs the midnight reset, would I not get a message stating something along the lines of: "...it's been to soon since last Test...", whereas the Oracle is letting me take the test, and saying I passed and saying I got the reward, but not giving the reward? I guess I am confused...
