This has been a known issue (44674).

This is symptomatic fallout of our tech team needing to disable tonemapping for Linux clients because scenes were loading in pitch black, unable to see anything. We're still working on a solution.

    Hello,

I was going to report almost the same problem here :D

    Area: Verdantis Foothills (Novia_R8_Hills01_VerdantisMinesEntrance) Loc: (-169.5, 60.1, -31.2)

Almost pure black screen when I enter Verdantis Foothills. I was going to checkout the new mine ( I'm a concerned miner after all). Here is a screen shot of what I saw entering the foothills.

Specs below in the signature. Let me know if you require anything else. Hope this helps.

    thanks!

Ok. One more location. I'm sure you probably have plenty of examples. I'm hitting a few scenes to see how wide spread this is. I won't post any more on this issue unless you need additional places to validate.

    Area: North Varisalla Foothills (Novia_R8_Hills01_02_North_Varisalla_Foothills) Loc: (-169.5, 60.1, -31.1)

    thanks!

Thanks for the details! This appears to be different than the brightness slider not working and, as you suggest, appears to be a graphic glitch which appears to sporadically affect certain scenes, similar to this report. If it's happening, can you type /debug in chat and see if errors are reported in the bar that appears across the top?

    Hello,

I meant to try this last night however I was unavailable. Tonight after I update my client I'll give it a try again. Very curious if I have the same results. I'll post tonight.

    thanks!

Ok. Just tested it and it's looking good. Not sure why it was messed up on the QA server. However in production it's looking great. I'll hit a few more scenes but I think it had been corrected.

    I appreciate it!

    thanks!
