Title: salvaging elven mage staves

Details: this got me a load of nothing but metal scrap. there is no metal visible in the design: i would expect mostly wood, a bit of leather, and possibly some gem fragments.

@Alley Oop I wasn't able to reproduce this internally. Salvaging the Elven Mage Staff gives me Wood Scrap.
