went taming in the new release

Fero red >1% chance 100 attempts no gain no collar loss

Elder wolf 40% chance 100 attempts 0 gain no collar loss

my taming skills 5 gm

in my opinion taming is broken if your a tamer please add to the post 300 attempts and no gain at any level

Tame creature only goes up on success since release.

 

yr so at 40% chance i should have been able to tame 40 in 100 not 0
and at 16% chance 16 in 100 not 0
even at 0 chance there should be some sort of gain or loss

also look at my skills im not a noob

The collar loss issue has been arround for months, and has been reported many times. i never loose collars unless I actually tame some thing. the key is to fail as much as possible.

 

As stated, taming seems to only level now on success, and success consumes a collar. I will submit the issue for review. Thanks so much, @Emmajcat.

@Emmajcat Were you standing on a valid location? For example, if you were standing on a rock where the creature couldn't reach you, you would not be able to gain XP from attempting to tame and failing.

 

@Serafina, I have heard many similar reports via word of mouth in the game that have not been posted in the forums. Something is up, for sure. I can try to dig up more details if you need

 

I was able to track down the issue from the reports and make the code fix. The fix will be in for Monday's build.

Verified working on 524. The only instances where a failure would not result in experience gained would be if the avatar is standing someplace considered unpathable by the target creature.

If you're continuing to observe this issue, please provide location coordinates from exactly where you're seeing the issue occur via the /loc chat command.

Standing Slightly higher than Target , targeting cursor is red and im able to attack target with bow and fists , doing damage with both .jet with taming it says in log out of range with cursor red

38865 is the assigned Bug ID for this taming issue, @Emmajcat. It seems taming is only working for scene masters at this time. Hopefully the issue will be resolved soon. In the meantime, do /whoismaster to make sure you are when you want to tame

 

As indicated, the new issue is now known. It appears to be tied to scenes where you're a remote player and not the "scene master". You can see who a scene master is by typing /whoismaster.

I recommend trying to find an empty scene for you to make your own and trying to tame there until we work out a fix. Thank you!
