[Known] Use the Boat and Edvard

During the crossing of the undead bridge with Edvard and Charlotte, Edvard kept saying text about "grabbing the bow next to the catapult near the burning house" which there is none at the bridge. I'm assuming he was speaking about the beginning of the area?

Also, if you get too far from Edvard when he is by the boat, he will return to his original place on the bridge. When you talk to him, he will say the text about making it to the boat and to take Charlotte across.

Is he supposed to stay by the boat after a certain point? Running back and forth is a pain.
