    My Ranged Combat is 41 after 10,000 arrows. It's super slow. Unfortunately spamming Aimed Shot is the key. Raises everything. Does good damage. Not very dynamic.
    You also need to hit so you're not wasting arrows. Increased dex, str, int for your attack skill rating. I'm also constantly kiting (except now that I hunt skele archers).

    If you limit skills raised to the ranged skills and some stats it does go faster. I just get bored of that.

    Also it might be good to swich to something else instead for a while, especially if one intends to use a secondary (melee) weapon later, because it will be much easier to develop those dex/str/int.

    I just gave up on archery until at least that worst bug is fixed (hopefully in the next patch, pleasepleasedevs..) but follow your Archery Journey with interest :)

    Notes:
    Went to try out my next skeleton archer spot. Got my butt handed to me. Back to the ruined keep.
    Went to a completely random deck. Archers don't move so I needed a minigame for entertainment. Glyph whack-a-mole.

    That being said... Pro tip! If you get in their faces they move and you keep shooting so you take way less damage. Dont do it in confined spaces (platforms) as the archers get confused and regen health...

    Thanks. I'm actually getting to be a glass cannon. Hit some 120 crits with Aimed Shot.

    Other than the 10k arrow grind my archer build is working out for now. Magery sounds rough.

    SotA is the first game I've ever played without playing an archer at some point...saw the warnings early :). But I am really enjoying following your journal, Thanks!

    So my two chosen skill paths are both broken? lol, that is a shame!!

    I am tempted to pick up a melee weapon, but I feel that my point investment in archery/magic is too great, and changing now would be a "waste". But I may be forced to do that anyway as I am down to my last 1000gold, and these arrows are so expensive!! Is this discussion here the best place for feedback?

    Put up 1000 arrows for 800 gold at the public vendor in Ardoris and it sold in about 2 hours. That's really fast. I don't think I can keep up with the arrow demand. I imagine when the game goes live there will be more crafters making arrows. The questions is, how will the crafters know what the demand is? An ordering system or bulletin board, as discussed in the telethon, would be helpful.

    You get them from the merchants at the crafting pavilions in Owls head and Ardoris. They are called "Bundles of feathers" and they are expensive. It's about 375 gold for 100 bundles which will make 1000 arrows. I have not found a place to gather/collect feather at this point.

    It's fun for me. Glad your enjoying following along with the grind. There are a lot of dead skeleton archers in the making of these posts. Another 3000 arrow update to add soon. Got distracted with the good folks of Port Phoenix.

    Despite the chickens right in the town square. I did check. Featherless chickens.

    I moved to archery for this release and noticed similar results to you having trained in similar lines except I took Moon tree skills to get charm effect and moon beams locking night sight off at lvl 10.

    I've stayed in leathers opposed to plate as some folk did in previous release and wear augmented stuff that's cheap to buy in city plus a player made bow from Rahl with additional speed on it that I'll swap out for crit later on. I carried 600 arrows to start with and now comfortably carry 1200 each trip out. Adventure level 19 so far and all basic skills in the 30's on archery with scavenger around 15-16 ish.

    I've stayed in Kingsroad purely to ensure I got meticulous in all harvesting lines and from lvl 8 went over to rotating deck which seemed to help with focus management. I regularly kite 5-7 small spiders round without getting hit now and charm the bear / wolf if it agro's with them (yes I get hit then). I have all three magic arrows and verdict still out on those at present especially with the magic nerf.

    I tried using my obsidian bear from last release but its a real pain going in and out of combat mode to regen and haven't really had need for a pet though I may try one later.

    Very happy with my tree choices so far and progression seems fair but will most likely be slower come release but personally I'm not in any hurry + I make my own arrows so cost hasn't been a big issue but appreciate it won't be as easy next full wipe.
