We'd still have the problem of describing what it is, so that a herald could draw it.

Does an outline of a charge count as a change as the tincture sable?

An outline, as in a thin black line is treated as if it isn't there. It doesn't count.

A fimbriation, which is a thick, bold outline, would make a difference. If it was sable, then the charge would be treated as sable, and could be placed on most other colors/metals.

How about: Argent Field > Sanguine Sun of Novia > Or Sun of Novia (smaller) > Orange Sun of Novia (smaller again)

Meh, reducing the size of the Sun prevents it from being fitting inside itself.

I was thinking more so all the edges all line up, just resizing doesn't achieve it.

I don't think 'stack and shrink' like that will work in the generator, though it would take Coren to answer that.

Now, a Novia sun Or, fimbriated sanguine, would work on an argent field, or a sanguine Novia sun fimbriated Or would work on sable, but it sounds like that would be insufficient for you. Hrmm.

I feel like the best bet might be to have a live consultation with you, Adiun, Ronan and/or GolemDragon. Just not sure how/when to set that up though.

I've been playing with the fimbriation variants with the sun and it doesn't quite work, would a double fimbriation be possible, it's not unheard of in heraldry but maybe too complex for the generator?

I don't have audio/video here best I could do is IRC, though I might leave it until the generator is more robust. Do you know when the next revision of the generator will be available with more charges? It's hard to tell just in a paint app, having the shield and banner is very handy to help judge.

and of course I just realized the interior will not be part of the fimbriation :( I will continue to work with it.

I believe 2-color charges are doable, the same way you can do 2-color backgrounds.

Since a charge can have two colours I think the sanguine with or on argent works best and there's no need for the fimbriation.

I've tweaked it slightly by filling the top right ray, thinning some of the internal lines and adding curls to the two internal points, could you do the same but without my dodgy paint skills?

I'm very happy with this many thanks Ronan, as for the charge description I was thinking "fiery asymmetric estoile".
