Launcher Broken - Worst I have seen it.

I have been trying to patch since release of R36. The launcher has been itself repatched many times. Normally on restarting the launcher, which is needed multiple times during patching, it starts by catching up to where it left off and continues.

Yesterday I had reached 36% on 502->504. Restarted Launcher. It updated then continued patching....from 0%.

I left this running overnight before I slept it was at 6%. This morning it was only on 12% and stuck. So I restarted the Launcher and......it restarted again at 0%.

This is a major blocker. If I cannot restart the launcher and continue then I will never be able to download the patch.

Looking at the Patch Notes you seem to be on 509 already. I will nevver catch up before R37.

I do not want to use Steam or third party streaming apps.

 

Just checked this again. Had reached 2% and was downloading as 'normal' to a max of 170Kb/sec. I restarted and it did not continue. It returned to 0%.

 

After last restart it started quite hopefully between 150 - 170 Kb/sec. As time passed the low figure begins to drop lower as the data rate slows. Now after2+ hours at 7% and download dropping to around 50 Kb/sec as the throttling takes effect over time. If all goes as before then it will drop off to virtually zero most of the time. Effectively no download.

Only...now if I restart the launcher to get things going again, I am likely to reset to 0% again.

 

Ok. Something changed. For the first time in 3 releases I am seeing data rates going over 170 Kb/sec. Now staying in the 150 - 185 range.

OK. We are now several hours on. I have just got back and checked progress.

On 51%. But now throttled to 0 Kb/sec data rate. Do I restart and risk starting again from 0%. Or hold tight for a few months until it reaches 100%. Afterall we are talking about an exponential decay over time here.

If I wait 4 weeks and it gets to 99% and my computer crashes and I have to start over, I may die-myself.

Yes, I have got a floppy drive.... 3.5, 5.25 & 8 inch.

 

Ok. It was stuck on 0 Kb/sec for hours. No data download at all. I gave in and restarted the launcher.

It restarted at 0%. OK. That's it. I am out. Can I have my money back please.

.....wait......now I am getting data rates at 350 - 450 Kb/sec.

 

Now got through 502->504. Downloaded and applying 504->507 ....and we flying again.

 

Starting 506->508 and getting over 500 Kb/sec.

 

508 done. Now on last leg. 508->509
