    takes 7 yards of leather now, takes 5 leather to make one yard of leather, so you do the math, its a lot more animal hide gathering now

    Actually it takes "10" "Yard of Leather", not "7".

    At least by the recipe I used earlier tonight. :p

    Wouldn't be that bad if they at least had a respectable amount of Deer around.

    Yes it's horrid how they added so much leather needed for this recipe...I was going to gain some coin doing this...ouchie...only getting 1-2 leather off of most bears and wolves....I'm HOPING that there will be a big impact when gathering skill comes in and gives us 10+ leathers for each body we skin :)

    How do you craft a 'yard of leather'? I can't afford the recipes (i spent my money on other ones), and I cannot seem to figure any of it out, and nothing I add to 5 leather (per above) seems to let me craft.

    i hope they do not go the usual mmo road where tradeskills are so costly that they are only good as an hobby for rich fighters

    I can see them bumping this up some cause ppl were getting rich way too quick, but I think they went a little overboard on it. in real life I would hate to know I had to kill 70 plus wolfs just to make me a pair of pants.

    There should be an consideration time invested and reward, if i kill bandits and skellies i get more in the same time out of it and do not need to drag lots of ressources around.

    It is the same each time, tradeskills become obsolete because you are not allowed to make money on them,

    And the way it is right now it is cheaper to buy a new npc vendor weapon than repairing weapons...

    Carrying enough hide to make 12 leather, my encumbrance kicked in. This suggests, I will have approximately 5 runs to get enough leather. Then I am not sure I can carry it all the leather to the table. I hope the leather yard weighs less than the ingredient.

    Note to self, owl's head bank can only be used for crafting storage.
