Your pool might have run out, but there's also a logrithmic effect on skills. The higher your skill is, the more experience needed for the next point in that skill. I'd imagine a sudden drop like you seem to be seeing is the empty XP pool though.

I hope when the "XP Bars" come back in R22 they will make them optional. I for one was happy to be rid of extraneous data points on my screen for R21. Immersion is KING!

I find it strange that my experience is kinda in the middle. I did some macroing, did some gustball, but the majority of gains were done in the field. What I find about skill gains is they seem ok to me. I'd like them to be faster at the upper levels, but could live with how they are if need be.

What I want to complain about would be the ADVENTURING skill levels. I'm an archer, as usual, and the only way I get adventuing levels to raise with any consistency is going out with a group of folks that the majority of them are at higher levels than I am. I can make a number of Adventure level gains that way, but otherwise it seems that once I got to about 12 or so, things seemed to come to a screeching halt. Everyone talks about skill levels, but they actually mean little without the Adventuring Level to back them up. I would rather see Adventure levels become easier to gain in, even if it meant that once you hit 10 in a skill level, then that skill slowed down a bit. A bit, a little bit, very little bit.....ok, don't slow it down, but do increase the rate of gain in Adventuring skill.

Interesting, had not thought to test that with swords or poles.

But I would say with ranged it may be the opposite for less obvious reasons. Quick shots with archery do little damage, which burns arrows, which requires one to go back to find/buy/make more arrows, which leads to downtime, which might lead to slower leveling. Dunno. But so far at low ranged skill levels I don't see value in using anything but max power attacks.

I'd love to know at what levels your 3 actual attack Polearm glyphs currently are? And what level your other 3 Polearm innates are currently.

And you went from 92 to 113.5 in 4 hours?

My skill gains in Greymark really tailed off which I'm assuming means that my XP pool bottomed out and I wasn't getting much XP from slaughtering elves.

I'm going to be moving on to Vertas Pass and Deep Ravenswood now and see if my skill gains start up again.

92 to 112 in about four hours in Greymark with a party of 3-5. By myself in about 3 hours later went from 112-113.2. Now I'm gaining about 0.1 there per session.

Hmmm... are you raising skills in any other trees at the same time? Any of the magic trees?
I'm curious, since currently I'm a Polearms guy myself.

The two Earth innates, the heavy armor innates (one is at 95), str, dex, health, and was doing int until recently. All were on when I had my big gain in polearms.

So, nothing in the magic trees other than innates?
