    I was thinking about pondweed and bogweed in connection to the thread (here) I put up on seaweed, and I realized there was something else that would make sense in bogs...

    lichen.

    This could even be the source of mosses like blood moss. (Although I thought the devs had some idea originally to make blood moss some PvP area connected reagent that grew where players were killed. *shrug*)

    At any rate, it would work with similar mechanics I suggested in the above linked thread for seaweed. Fishing in bogs would sometimes pull up lichen, and the lichen could have stuff caught in it.

    Then, mosses and lichens could be recycled as bait for certain fish.

    Some varieties of lichens could probably also be harvested from trees in swamp areas. Or there could also be some lichen harvestable nodes. Could be different sources for different types. Could even be a source of peat.

    I'm thinking if
    Seawater = kelp/seaweed
    Fetid water = lichen/moss

    Then fresh water, like with lakes and rivers, would probably = sedge/reed-grass, or else fennel pondweed type stuff.

    I think they intentionally avoided using all the same reagents that are in Ultima..
