On my Ubuntu 18.04 box I run into the following problem: I'm currently installing the QA client... well, it just takes some time to get all the files.

The 1st thing I noticed (compared to the Windows launcher): there is no "QA" in the Window title.

Than I wanted to start the normal client, to check an offline save game, but it didn't start, because "there is another instance of the game running".

I found a ".SotALauncher.pid" and ".SotA.pid" in my home directory.

Is it possible, that the normal and QA client use the same "pid files"?

It would be really awesome if the QA client would use it's own files (and names).

One more note: it looks like I can start the normal client from the Steam environment.
I do not have the QA client installed under steam, only the normal one.
The setup from my 1st post are both "deb installed".

That is another problem. | Hat mit dem geschilderten Problem nichts zu tun.

    ---

You can start the client directly without using -single-instance on the command line.
The executable you find with: locate "Shroud of the Avatar.x86_64"

Der Klient kann auch direkt gestartet werden ohne der Angabe von -single-instance auf der Befehlszeile.
Die Ausführbare Datei kann wie folgt gefunden werden: locate "Shroud of the Avatar.x86_64"
