Linux testing + twitch stream , OBS

    Hi all,

    Tested Linux with this machine:

    AMD RyzenThreadripper 1920, 12 Core
    16Gb
    500gb SSD
    Nvidia 2080ti
    Two monitors

    Latest Ubuntu with latest nvidia drivers from nvidia homepage:
    + Its playable
    + OBS working and stable
    - StreamQuality is not so good

    Latest Manjaro using nvidia non-free drivers
    ++Playable
    ++OBS works a lot better
    +Quality is ok (still testing)

    Try using Vulkan instead of OpenGL.

    Ok i tried, ingame it was not much better , still need some testing.
    Sota doenst support Vulkan per default, so i did the -force-vulkan in steam.

    Sota does support it, you need to enable it in the launcher with -force-vulkan. But I guess doing it through steam is the same effect.
    Did you confirm you were running Vulkan? Performance should be a lot better. Well at least for me it is.

    And if you really are not happy with the performance on Linux, use Steam with Proton on Steam.
    It will use DXVK.

    Screen resolution? Anything above 1080p is going to cost you performance.

    I use 1920x1080 on main monitor.

    Btw after updating manjaro yesterday i had a better fps performance.
    If you have any tips for me let me know.
