Now containers move to the top, and locked items move to the top, and then things alphabetize. So we've got a list, then another list, then another list (not counting quest and tools, two more lists.)

Here's what I foresee. You lock stuff to your inventory. Now you don't remember, did you lock that one or not? Instead of having an alphabetized list (ignoring the containers at the top,) you've now got to look in two places to find it.

What do you think, not a problem? Or "where did I put that?"

Like it as it is,except to repair locked and equipped stuff you need to unlock first.

I like it going to the top.

If you were able to put a locked item on a crafting table then you would be able to salvage it.

If the locked attribute persisted, it could simply disable the salvage button. Technically, a crafting table is an extension of your own inventory, and it would make sense to do it this way, since you have to repair armor so much in this game.

You don't increase repair skills unless you use the table. I think you also get better repairs with the table.

    Hi someone at home?

Who is speaking of increasing repair skill? o_O

A locked item what is equipped cannot be repaired with a repair kit.
    That's all.

As long as the list doesn't sort that way for pickpockets...

I like it at the top of the list. However, I would love an option to hide the locked items from the list, like we can do with quest items.

I thought it just did that. Not sure it should be hidden from thieves but I don't want to make it easy for them.

Yes, and when you want to repair an equipped item, you have two choices:
1: drop a repair kit on it
2: drag it into the table to repair it

1 doesn't increase repair skills and repairs less
2 (apparently) can't be done with the current inventory lock, which would be a pain in the ass when the item is near the end of regular repairs and you have to repair it every day

Which is why I would like to see inventory lock allow you to place the item on a crafting table, with the Salvage button disabled.

Masterwork/Enchanting would be another problem to consider. I think you should have to unlock the item for that too, just like salvage.

Gear menu at top of inventory window. Equipped tools, too. That was around six months ago.
