Login during R61 for free Respec!

Players who login December 20th through January 30th will receive a complementary item entitled "Obsidian Item of Greater Unlearning (Expires Soon)" that when used allows them to to reset all skills in a skill tree to minimum levels and move 100% of the experience to the experience pool for spending elsewhere. Alternatively, they can use it to set all adventurer or crafting skills to their minimums and return 100% of experience to your pool for reapplying in a new way. This effectively grants players a full respec to rebuild their character however they choose.

NOTE: This item must be used by January 30!

Additional identical items entitled "Obsidian Item of Greater Unlearning" can be purchased from the Crown Merchant interface. The purchased version has no expiration.

 

Thanks DS for the announcement and explanation of what they do. I know a lot of people have been asking about how to use them in-game and had questions regarding whether they can be used on just one tree, or everything, and also whether they can be used for crafting too.

 

Nice option for folks to be able to purchase later. I won't be using mine as I'm happy as is with my main avatar.

 

Yea, my main will likely stay as is, but I may experiment with an alt or two with these.

 

I hope the outside world hears about this somehow.

But uh.... How do we use it?

 

I did not readily see how they would be used. With the standard unlearning scrolls we could see the amount of xp to be returned and then had a chance to say no. I cannot figure out how to fire these books off, and if I do will I get the same xp total and chance to say no?

This effectively grants a player a full UNSPEC, not a respec. Skill must be re earned through regular use. With the returned XP able to be reused normally.

Use it by clicking the gear wheel on the skills panel.
You can NOT pick and choose skills to unlearn. it is either
A. -----
B. One entire skill tree(moon, blacksmith, foraging etc)

C. one entire skill category. (Adventure or crafting)

Why are you doing this? We all know in SotA the next skill fuu-up is always around the corner.
I would like to keep the book for the next "skill adjustment".

Looks like if you want to save one for when you want to use it you will need to purchase one. Right now they are giving them to us to be nice and let us change what we think we might not want or messed up. I think of it as a way they are saying thank you to players who have played and became frustrated through changes they have made and giving you a chance to change it for free.

 

@DarkStarr, what is the reasoning behind the time limit ? I don't see why there has to be a rush, shouldn't these be useful items for those that want to switch their characters up and be usable anytime ?

 

Can we get one for each character on our account?
