Make is to the city laws support no trespassing restrictions.

Put up a a sign that says no trespassing and then if a guard spots you trespassing you are dealt with. :p

Gated communities would be a whitelist, not a blacklist.
A blacklist is when the local bar puts up a sign with "Don't serve these people" for their staff.

I love it when people always bring up immersion as excuse to demand something. Where is the immersion to stop player to walk through you so you could block an open way to keep people out? What is with the immersion if a low fence, which you can jump over is now blocking you? So they should not be able to lock your lot. If only high walls prevent people from entering, how long will it take that people complain about all the lots with high walls. How much immersion is that to see a city full of high wall guarded lots? Should I be able to secure my lot from trespaser with a guard dog that bites everyone to death who set a foot on my land. Is that enough immersion? Don't bring immersion as reason. Bring something valueable.

If you wanna be evil, be evil but not on my lot. Is the world not big enough? Are you running over the backyards of house owners which have no hedges in Real Life? Normally not, so why should you in Britannia? I like the momentary lot restriction.

Let's just switch to instanced housing. I now change my mind and think it's a wonderful idea. Would save the devs tons of time since all housing is eliminated from towns. It would save the community from shanty towns and objectionable lawn decorations. You get your own little private space that nobody sees except you and whomever you invite to enter. Plus, think of the tremendous performance gains! And the increase in property decoration limits that nobody sees except you so nobody is negatively affected! Isn't that a win-win for everyone?

C'mon Richard, let's make it happen. I know how much you love instanced housing.

    lol

I was running around on the Aqueduct in Ardoris the other day, like one does.

And being used to how things used to work, sprinted and long jumped towards a roof....
    *thud*
    ...invisible wall and....
    *splat*
...a red spot on the street where our antagonist used to be. Followed by a suprised...
    ooOooooOoOOoo

Took me a few wetware flops before I realized what had happened.
