Lot Selection Sequencing: Date of Pledge also a factor

I'm... ah... in the early 40,000s. @_@;;; Hopefully there'll be a City lot left somewhere by the time they get to then

 

We know that date of pledge and amount of pledge both matter for lot sequencing. But which trumps?

ie, For two backers with the same pledge tier (eg. Knight) and backer type (eg. Founder), if one pledged earlier but less (eg.21 May 13, $750) and the other pledged later but more (eg 21 Feb 14, $850), who gets priority?

 

Moral,

From what I know at this time and things can change very fast after this post, the one that pledged on Feb 14 gets the priority.

If both had the same date, then it's the pledge amount.

You couldn't have pledged before March (It started March 8th), my # is from when I registered on the website, my pledge date is from kickstarter.

My actual pledge date was March 11, 2013 at 5:22pm.

 

I was just messing with you really, but I pledged on March 12th. If you did so prior to that then I'll be picking through YOUR leftovers.

Ha, should be interesting to see how Portalarium intends to handle the sequencing considering how granular you two are being : "I pledged one day earlier."

Probably going to be something like : "Enter your top ten lot location choices, and you will receive the first choice that was not taken by an earlier pledge"

While you guys are fighting over pledge date and times... Does it matter?

I imagine that choosing your top ten lots won't work well cause your to ten town/city lots ate likely to be everyone else's to ten lots.

 

Well I think a lot of us are hoping the exact date/time is taken into account.

Lonestranger did up the design doc based off of a thread we made in the dev+ section on the subject. I'm hoping they utilize that system as it does allow a to the second and to the penny pledge to be taken into account for priority. And gives big enough windows to allow 99%(maybe even all) of people with houses to place during placement windows.

The only question then, what matters more, date of pledge or amount of pledge? should I throw in a few extra pledges so I can beat others who might have pledged before me?

 

Oh I agree, there be a large gaping hole in that method. Namely what happens if none of your chosen lots are available.


Which is why I ponder how they intend to do it.

I doubt lot selection can be performed in any sort of synchronous fashion. Having to wait for each individual user to go into the game, one at a time, and chose their lot will take an abysmal amount of time. So I can only presume it is to be done in some other manner.

Should be interesting to see what they come up with.

 

When we were still at Knight level just below Lord we considered staying there to be one of the first Knights placing.

I'm glad I don't have your first world problems, I'm just a lowly Founder knight from 2013-03-11 20:51:00. Put me by the Moongate or maybe the bank, or maybe the tavern, no by the Guildhouse, in a far away village of Hilt, wait, that place got destroyed, perhaps Midras. Hmmm

 

This makes no sense. The last Lord will place before the first Knight, and you can always use your town deed on a village plot.

 

Obviously we agreed, we went up to Lord. But at the time, it was a consideration.

 

I'm sure all us March 2013 pledgers will have no problem finding premium lots. That is a good question though: does pledging 1 dollar more give someone priority over someone who pledged a year or more earlier? I guess that's TBD.
