loving the new loot jackpots :)

had a few of these last 3 days gotta say each time was a surprise and pretty fun looking at the list of things in the loot window.

gotten them from humanoids, containers and bodies fyi.

*it could be that these are not new and rng just felt pity for me this weekend

2 Obsidian Chips at once?

 

I found an Onyx in a crate I smashed Rare find but nice surprise.

 

I just found a jar of worms, which was actually just what i needed as i was going fishing!

 

Can those be used as decoration?

 

I'm hoping so, i haven't opened as i read it just fills your back pack with 20 worms and i already had 200. I will find out later

While i personally havent seen this, i really hope to.

In my view, a game needs to offer bonuses and surprises as rewards for the grinding that everyone engages in. Rare creatures, the odd treasure chest, a nice weapon drop - these all contribute to creating a real adventure. Since SotA relies heavily on instances, i hope the possibilty of surprises and cool discoveries will be straight forward to implement.

 

Running the battle of Solace Bridge scene after the loot change you get a lot of random stuff since all the soldier bodies give something. I ran one as a trial and got metal boots, the worm jar, some garnet piece, a salmon, and some other bits and things.

But please note that Quiver (of arrows) and Jar of Worms are much much much lighter than their unpacked equivalence. So I store them and then bring them as the reserve when you go archery or fishing etc.

 

I have found a repair kit and 2 recall scrolls as loot in the last few days. Oddly it was on the same mob I killed and then never got anything again for like 100+ kills. So eh, cool and all but wouldn't hurt to make things like this a little more common. The monotony with loot can be disconcerting, so I think even small things like these items listed in the posts here can be enjoyable. Doesn't need to be magic items and rares to make things seem less monotonous.

 

Weird, was killing humanoids for about 2 hours last night and nothing. I didn't even realize that other loot could drop.

 

Yeah, soldier is a 4-skull dropped repair kit and poison potion in addition to his normal halberd and gold, so they do drop. Only seen it once tho, among hundreds of kills.
