Magic, Combat, and Crafting Skills

    That reads a bit weird. I'm guessing what you are actually saying is that the output damage of this spell has a large dispersion. While a normal fireball spell does damge of 4 or 5 quite consistently, this spell could do a lot more zeros but also a lot higher hits too. Could this spell naturally affect the caster too? Or would that be only after combat modifiers have been applied?

    Did some quick calculations earlier that I will spare for now as I'm guessing the devs have already thought about this but I'm curious. I want to naively assume that the different types of spell at the same tier will output the same average damage over time, depending how modifiers are handled the resultant averages could be quite skewed.

    NB: No, I'm not telling them how to do their job. I'm just curious and never been this close to the development process so never really considered it before. :)

    My opinion is that it speaks of effects meaning stun, knockdown, slow, on fire etc picking one randomly.

    Just as well I didn't type a massive angry rant (longer than War & Peace natch) with my "concerns" and implicitly call certain devs out. Could have had egg on my face. Phew! :p

    They could have an exponential curve to the skills but then have the higher skills be purely cosmetic. So you could could be a level 20 swordswinger and have all the skills that matter...but you could spend the next 5 years swinging your sword and slowly get unlocks of some type.

    This give you the choice of spreading stuff around and getting "all the skills" but still allowing someone to have a higher level of something that others cannot get.

    As long as unlimited skills or unlimited points in a skill don't equate to unlimited power of a character, you have many, many options. If points = power and there's weird bonuses and synergy all over the place, then you need throttles on everything.

    My reading of this skill is that it may be a bolt from any school of magic; poison bolt, fire bolt, pasta bolt, etc.

    Straight from kickstarter, "When everything’s said and done, we’ll put together a PDF document of various concepts and design documents. " When everything is said and done to me says when they are done with the systems, these are still work in progress. Does that mean we are supposed to have them in beta or after the game is ready? I don't know, but I certainly don't see it as, we get it before everything is done. To me it's a supplemental we get after they are done so we can see how they arrived at our final product.

    As a Tacomancer, I may throw a pasta bolt accidentally by using Chaos Magic. It's a ranged touch attack.

    I need to go behind Jhelom and look for the magic taco. You know, the one that comes back to you after it hits the enemy. Most powerful taco in the game.

    that would be cool if the only way to get an expert crafting table is to enhance one bought from an NPC or build it yourself.

    I aways loved games like megaman, kirby, final fantasy (blue mage), castlevania(soma) because you can steal/copy enemy spells/skills and use at will.

    "Chaotic Clone: Creates a copy of spells cast by owner that hit random targets."

    I hope to see new skills/spells like that when new episodes come out

    Just now looking at this and thought:

    Hurricane - can be a combo of air (snare, knockback, lightning) /water (cold, heal, or damage) where there can be a % chance of healing and/or doing damage instead with maybe chaos thrown in % doing damage to yourself/group etc since after all it IS a hurricane you are tossing up.

    Love the update, coming along great so far for a little over 6 months!

    Like many others, I'm twitching to see a few things. I'll leave out the "hot" topics to not start a fire.
    Any chance we can catch a glimpse of two characters playing together, like interacting in some way? Interested in seeing communications amongst each other, and then their skills combining with one another?
