At the moment, it's just not worth crafting gear since you can too easily get hold of better weapons/gear at the NPC shops. I really hope they change this soon as at the moment it's just not worth while crafting weapons/armour etc for sale to other players.

I've setup www.sotaloot.com as a way for players to sell their stuff, and find cool stuff for sale - making crafted gear more worth while will mean it is more likely players will want to trade on a platform like that.

    Cheers,

    Carlin the Druid Archer.

Have you looked at the public vendor at Owls head? Really neat feature I hoping will stay in SotA, perhaps some minor adjustments but it exactly the type of market I have been asked for.

Hi Morkul, yes it is very cool.

With www.sotaloot.com I'm wanting to create a place where you can easily see all the gear for sale across many vendors across New Britannia.

The crafted gear is actually very good, the cloth is by far the best mage armour in the game. The weapons are all great too, just need the addition of longswords, longbows and a fix for staff and wands.

Yea I know but it's kind of obsolete since the function are available in game.

Hi Morkul, I agree you can use vendors to buy things, but how to you say 'find all flaming swords for sale' across the land without visiting every single vendor?

That's what I'm trying to achieve, one place where you can easily find everything.

First off: I edited my first post, off cause I meant obsolete and nothing else.

Do every town have a public vendor? I have only found one on Owls head but I can be wrong. The advantage with that vendor is that you can list items at your own price and hope another player are willing to pay that price, compared to other vendors where you get the price he is willing to pay.

trade off for augmented vs crafted gear is steep.

I'm sure they will make it more balanced later, but for now, for many items it is easier just to go buy the augmented gear rather than bothering to craft it or buy crafted items.

The devs have said their goal is for player crafted items to be the best you can find.

So you basically want to setup a marketplace in a game that prides itself in not having one?

Why do you want to turn a game that does not want hand holding and making things have a regional economy into a one stop shop? Totally exploits the whole meaning of regional economies. Sad....and unfortunately unavoidable.

Yes, every town has a Public Vendor with maybe an exception of Braemar (I have not noticed one there but I haven't searched there either).

It being Pre-Alpha they're just laying the ground work for the game. In time everything will be adjusted once they have all the basic systems in place. What you see now is not the final design, we have a lot of things that are placeholders so to speak. Armor/Weapons and many other things will have their time in adjustments and fixes. We just have to be patient and wait until they get the basic systems in place before we can expect them to be refined.

You are off cause right. I would like to see a few more of them with different specialities, one selling armour and swords, one selling furnitures and so on. That would build up a propper player market that I would visit every time I would be looking for something special instead of walking from player vendor to player vendor.
