Mining silver in the new Elysium mine is a cake walk. You typrically fight only one enemy at a time, sometimes two, and I average 3 silver ore per 1 copper ore. And I average sbout 250 total ore an hour.

Compare this to Etceter Crag mine, where you are continually bombarded with 2-5 mobs at a time and get only 2 gold per 1 copper/iron ore. Average total ore/hour an abysmal 150.

Is gold intended to be rarer than silver or does the old Crag mine need some love?

Less mob in the bottom level of Graff Gem Mines... only a few Earth Elementals... Etceter Crag Mines is a constant fight for survival... LOL

I mine alot and I find the new elysium mine boring. Theres not enough mobs to fight. I can mine it on my low level alt while only partly paying attention to the game client.

I have moved over to etceter crag mines where I at least get some adventure XP while mining. Sometimes I can pull 14 mobs at once in there, better than the two max in elysium

I hear you @Elnoth, clicking on nodes repetitively is boring... But, at the same time, I think most miners don't want to spend more time fighting than they do mining.

IMO Crag mines are fine I can spend a few hours there and pull about 200 gold and 50 to 60 copper an hour the mobs are dense at first but after about 30 minutes I'm fighting less often than Elysium plus I'm killing everything at once and there is far far far less running from node to node so producer exp is higher as well

Are you doing third and fourth levels? I pull an average of 250-300 an hour in Etceter doing both levels.

250 to 300 an hour in Etceter? Unless you know some secret area there is no way that's accurate.

Also, if you do your masterworks first and then enchanting it will make you use a lot less gold overall. There is also way more masterworking crafting skills that use silver instead of gold so it makes sense that silver should be more common.

It's accurate. But, not going to try to convince you. I know how much time I spent in there and how much I pull out.

Yeah, if you make sure all 5 chambers are open, it's very doable.

How are you guys pulling out THAT much ore in an hour down in those mines? Is this primarily skill level based? The refresh rates do not feel like they are high enough to generate that kind of return.

I am using a True Bronze engraved pick axe.

I avoid stepping into it....you can go around it, easy.

I am using a True Bronze engraved pick axe and Gauntlets of Lead. I am at GM skill, nothing special. I think a lot of people are missing some of the chambers and not opening them all. If you find them all and do the entire third floor (where the Lichs are) and then kill the Lichs and go down to 4th level, you can pull that much out of there. It's a really easy route to run. I'm happy to show anyone that is having issues, just holler at me in-game sometime.

ldykllr is right, 250 total ores in Etceter Crag Mines is doable.

It's true silver now in Elysium is possibly the most "easy" or relaxing place for mining, due to super low amount of mobs, but the difference is not huge.

Use purify spell (Life school) for dots ;)

250 to 300 ore per hour is what I pull from 1st level of crag mines 3rd and 4th are just too much of a pain again with the walking and travel times I am GM mining and swift mining with obsidian potion and true bronze and gauntlets of lead

:) They added something like 11 nodes down in that area, so it has helped a lot
