More random encounters please...

    I like them, but they dont happen enough... walking along roads on overworld map... and they are too easy... lets have some harder ones in harder areas... speaking of which, where are! the harder areas?

    and give us a 5 second immunity at zone in... I like it being an ambush, fine dont let me draw my sword until game recieves message saying I've zoned in, like I move or try casting or drawing sword... ambush fine but not when game mechanics haven't even shown me whats ambushing me.

    and can we have some with ponds we can stop and fish in... set up camp, rest eat... then move on, you can even throw in some respawns if we dally in them too long

    I don't mean same creatures just in mass amounts I mean some harder badass ones...

    Bring on the random road encounters! especially since they have good resources...

    Would like to see a wider range of maps for them and a lot larger maps and more varied resources...

    Bring them out now so we can bash them over some rocks and see if they break before you bring on the final wipe... we want to break stuff at least 6 months before release to market so you can fix them...

    For fear of incurring the wrath of @Budner (I remember how you hated the initial frequency of random encounters! :D ), I have to agree with more random encounters.

    When they were introduced, it was a bit too often. But now it seems so far and few in between. Can we step it up just a little? :cool:

    After the final wipe, they will work on replacing these random encounters with roving encounters if I read the note correctly.

    We'll get there :)

    hrm, would a link to that scene in Half Baked where everyone says what they want from the store be inappropriate in this forum? Anyway I read the OP in my head as told by Jim Breuer in that scene.

    This. Thier intent is to have roving encounter you can actually see roaming around on the map. The types of encounters will include things like (and probably not limited to) Scenarios, normal monsters, resources, big monsters, merchants, small side quests, etc

    They need to be rare but special!


    Wolves, Sheep and Traveling Venders just don't cut it, so unsurprising and need to be special in order to "catch my eye" which the script prompt implies... :(

    I really hate the random encounter scenes. I can't even begin to tell you how frustrating it is when I just want to go from one place to another and then I have to wait for a scene to load just so I can leave it and then wait for the world map to load again. If they implement what they originally planned - that you could see it on the world map and avoid it - then that would be OK.

    Random encounters as they are currently implemented need to die in the fires of hilt. If they do actual roving encounters and actually have more of a purpose of down other wise it's most just a pain having to be forcefully loaded into a useless scene with a single vendor or a few skeletons.

    My crafter loves random encounters--makes it easy to scarf up a small pile of resources. But my explorer can get a little piqued if he hits too many of them in a row.

    Either show them on the map, give us an popup where we can "accept" or "decline" or remove the current system completly.

    The current implemenation is very annoying. Everytime a random encounter forces me to load a scene i am not interested in at all anyway i could scream the F... word!
    It gets even worse as soon i notice i have to load the world map once again...

    The random encounters currently also seem to punish those with slower computers for 2 reasons.

    1. The multiple load times takes a while. My wife can take 5 minutes to get into one of these zones and out again.
    2. Since they are slower computers they take longer to get across the map, and seem to hit more of these random encounters.

    I would say: more meaningful or rewarding Random Encounters. The ones we currently have now are neither, so I would not want to see them increase those without addressing the first two core issues. Plus, yeah, load times.

    Roving encounters will be implemented after final wipe.

    Once compelted and implemented they will have more variety

    For random encounters that drags you in give us a N minute cooldown, if we don't like the encounters we leave them early and will then be safe from encounters for a while
    And if the other hand we likes them we stay longer and will have less time left on the cooldown when we leave the first.

    Also think we could have some rare encounters trigged by survey skill.
    with high skill in forestry survey could have chances to find a encounter with some promising trees and similar

    Totally on board with more random encounters. Need to change a bit from the way we currently see them though.
