    I have no problem with stopping auto attack and all the other things for combat multi boxing. But for crafting, it is the ONLY reason i have an alt. That reason is not to be more efficient, but to be able to do the tedious tasks while also doing something more fun.

    Here is an example (ignoring masterwork or enchanting RNG)

    So making a full set of leather armour that every piece is exceptional.
    Highish skilled player will have 25%ish chance to exceptional. So lets assume i have to make 4 of each part to make a exceptional.

    So i'm a leather armour specialist, so i'm going to base it on that, as that what i know.

    Lets say i make

    Fortified Leather Helm
    Fortified Leather Chest Armour
    Epic Leather Leggings
    Fortified Leather Gloves
    Fortified Leather Boots

    Now for this i'm using tier 2 materials, because no one wouldn't, I know harden leather is expensive but supple is not (only suet).

    So the recipes for these

    Fortified Leather Helm
    Yard of Leather = 3
    Metal Binding = 1
    Strap = 3

    Fortified Leather Chest Armour
    Yard of Leather = 7
    Metal Binding = 2
    Strap = 6

    Epic Leather Leggings
    Yard of Leather = 5
    Metal Binding = 0
    Strap = 5

    Fortified Leather Gloves
    Yard of Leather = 2
    Metal Binding = 1
    Strap = 2

    Fortified Leather Boots
    Yard of Leather = 2
    Metal Binding = 1
    Strap = 1

    Total
    Yard of Leather = 19
    Metal Binding = 5
    Strap = 17

    So to make 4 of each
    Yard of Leather = 76
    Metal Binding = 20
    Strap = 68

    each yard of leather
    leather X 2

    each metal binding
    ingot X 0.5 (as you get 2 per craft)

    each strap
    Leather X 1

    So i need make
    (76 X 2) + (68 X 1) = 152 + 68 = 220 tier2 leather
    (20 X 0.5) = 10 tier2 ingots

    Now for tier 2 that means
    tier 2 leather needs 4 leather so 220 X 4 = 880 tier1 leather
    tier 2 ingot needs 2 ingots so 10 X 2 = 20 tier1 ingots

    Therefore to make the components for this one exceptional armour set i have to craft
    880 + 20 = 900 raw materials => tier 1
    220 + 10 = 230 tier 1 => tier 2
    5 X 4 = 20 tier 2 => Final combine

    So a total of 1150 individual crafts.

    So ignoring the inventory management and swapping between crafting tables.
    For my skill i timed making 20 leather. It took 157 seconds.

    So that is 1150 X 157 / 20 = 9,027.5 sec which is just over 2.5 hours just watching a progress bar.....

    People may have better skills than me, but considering this can be measured in HOURS makes this nuts. With this change, i would not be able to play the game while this progress bar goes up, I would have to do something else instead, ie play something else while i crafted.......

    Now if the processes up to the final combine where massively increased, by like a factor of 1000 then i would not care. You could even then slow down all final combine to be like 100 times slower to compensate, as this is tiny proportion of the crafting required.
    Or this progress bar time needs to be moved to elapsed time like brewing, not online, at the keyboard time.

    PS please check my numbers in case i did something wrong, but from my experience of making armour from scratch this sounds about right.

    I'm less concerned about crafting as it does not negatively impact the economy. Also, adding things into the queue and tabbing away should be permitted. The thing that hasn't been allowed is still true though which is using a macro program.

    There might be an impact because there are people who craft potions (or other stuff) non stop for the craft xp, on 2-3 accounts or more at once ...if only main window will do the crafting those people will not buy reagents anymore.... farming is a big thing now with double production .

    That's just people adding things into a que then tabbing away, which would be permitted

    So yes macroing should not be allowed. But from your post, if the something else i do is play SOTA on a second client while the crafting character would not be the client in focus, i would be breaking the rules.

    From your post
    Multi-boxing IS allowed. The only thing that is not allowed is having a second (or third+) client in the background that is executing some automatically triggered skill like autoattack or crafting.

    Assuming this includes waiting for a crafting batch to finish then I would be breaking this rule, before then putting focus back on and starting a new batch. Which the way i read the post, it seems it would.

    I would also not agree with this comment, while i understand that selling crafted items between players only moves gold around it does not create or destroy it. Crafting is the lions share of gold sinks in this game. I barely give any gold back to the system while adventuring, and yet gain quite a lot. However with the fuel gold sink on crafting I give gold back to the system.

    What dreadpirate was doing specifically had no impact at all on the economy. He was just earning xp with 5 accounts at once. The loot was the same for his 5 accounts compared to if 1 person soloed it. Does gaining experience somehow effect the economy in some way that I'm missing? What screws up the economy is super easy wave battles and easily farmable scenes like UT.

    Can he solo it and with same speed?
    If there is something he cannot solo, but with multiboxing can do and possibly faster, then yes.
    Also clearing speed might be faster with multiboxing.

    He gave video showing how its done, but anyone can automate that clicking. Hell, it might have been mouse movement macro, video does not prove anything.
    It's clear, that multiboxing gives advantage and its also clear that there's problems with game design also..

    It's free to play game, so accounts can be made as many as needed.
    I think I should create 4 more accounts, purely healers. I just rotate them and heal my main, I wonder If I could finally survive bosses. /j

    I can do it faster solo. And many others can do it faster than I can. The amount of effort that takes for him to do really isn't worth the reward in my opinion. Plus he's wearing out bows with auto attack, so it's not a very efficient method compared to others.

    Most anyone can solo everything if they put the time and effort in. The issues with the economy are more due to game design. Multiboxing like that isn't the problem.

    So having one good computer that can run multiple instances of the game is being punished, but having multiple computers on one desk to do the same thing isn't?

    Except when crafting, apparently, where you can fire and forget.

    I'm so confused by the reasoning here.

    The fact that UT is now considered Easy to solo is a different problem. Because it and other places were not considered Easy before. UT has had its difficulty ramped up multiple times and is due for it again.

    Getting over 200 points in a single stat and over 200 in an attunment used to be really good. Thanks to increased artifact and crafted equipment power folks now feel they must push 400 on a stat and over 300 in an attunment.

    Being able to load up a batch and go do the dishes is the onyl thing that keeps crafting alive. If one has to stay focused all the time, I will bet someone $100 the crafting side immidiately grinds to a halt except for people who have figure out work arounds.

    In my opinion it should go the other way. Load up your days work and let the automotons do it while you go do something else. Or your character is locked there on zombie mode but you can go study underwater basketweaving at the local community college.

    So for crafters I'm going to make the prediction that it doesn't go either way, because crafting is Bzus's department.

    So new players be damned? If you didn't happen to be around when the UT XP faucet was easily attainable, you're out of luck? The game already has a reputation for veterans benefitting from previous imbalances and exploits.

    It'd be on thing to have a different UT that's tougher, but if UT is considered valid, it should stay the way it is for the up-and-coming.

    Thats not really a viable argument ...what should we do now..keep everything ingame that is easily exploitable , unfixed....so that new players can exploit them also ? o_O

    You can, I can't. I can't grind 500M xp, but I could grind 5 guys to handle very specifig mobs.

    Yep. Refining is so tedious if you deny folks being able to do this. That would honestly probably cause me to quit.
