Music submission for "Human Village"

Hi everybody,

I wish I had more free time (and bandwidth speed!) to read more of the threads on here and listen to more of the music, but I'm sort of in a tight spot for at least a few more months.

In any case, I managed to carve out 30-60 minutes for the past few weeks to put this piece together that I've submitted for the "Human Village" slot. If you ever played the original Ultima Online, you may remember that there were music instruments that you could play. If you failed in your attempt you got a few sad, butchered chords. But if you succeeded, you got a tune. I took the first part of this tune (or at least, my recollection of it; ha!) and ran with it. I hope you enjoy it, and please let me know what you think!

Hokage -- I am absolutely *not* going to check out chessy for fear of losing what remaining free time I have, haha! Although I doubt I would do too well w/ the speed limitations out here.

Hrm, so it's been almost 2 weeks since I sent a PM to submit this piece, and I haven't heard anything. It seems like other pieces are moving forward in the process. Do I need to do something else?

I'm not involved in the management of submitting music, but I'm fairly familiar with the process, so maybe I can help. I've been participating enough to be able to explain the procedure at least semi-well.

It sounds to me like you are stuck at "step 1" and haven't received a response on one of your musical submissions. If I were you I would make sure that the PM you sent matches all of the criteria shown below in step 1, and re-send it if it does not. If everything is matching like it should be, it may have just been accidentally overlooked. I know that Holt and Firelotus have a lot of things going on and I'm sure it wasn't done intentionally. I'd just post a second time in the PM/Conversation thread you started and politely ask for an update on the status.

As far as I am aware, "step 1" is this:

1. The artist submits a song, or at least a melody idea, for one of the tracks on the "Crowdsource Music Request List + Naming & Placement Guide" (which is currently not locked out, in progress, approved, or paid) via PM to 'Holt' and 'FireLotus'. (A PM on this forum is the "Conversation" function accessible in the "Inbox" menu on the upper right hand corner of the screen.) Make sure you name the PM as follows: "Music Submission: <category from Spreadsheet> <Title from Spreadsheet> <date>"
   • It is important to note that all song submissions should be uploaded to Soundcloud. When you submit the song in the PM, you go to your song's page on the Soundcloud website, copy the address, and paste it into the PM. If you do not have a Soundcloud account, you can create a free one which should be all you need for for these purposes.
