My poems and a possible goodbye

My wife and I found out we are having twins. Having a daughter that turns 2 on Monday, this is very exciting yet life changing news. Not sure if I will be able to play, or when. But I have loved being a part of this community and hope my poems can live on in the game somehow. Thank you all and I hope to see you on the other side.

My main submission for the Hearts of Britannia contest:


I Love Her, Though


I’ve heard the songs of many bards

Proclaiming their powerful love.

They smile and sing to great applause,

In taverns below and above

This old city’s main street, look there,

One plays songs for a young maid now.

See how her eyes, lost in his smile,

As he ends his show with a bow.

But what they know, it is not love

Of this truth, I surely do swear.

For I have known the whole of it,

Love’s triumph but also despair.

I’ll tell you, if you wish to know

Of a love, my love, Dame Lori,

It may not be worthy of songs

Or bards, or fit for king or queen.

I simply wish to tell of her,

Pray listen and I will explain;

She walks the stars and moon above,

While dancing in each drop of rain.

She loved the first frost of winter

And also the first day of spring.

I found it odd that one could love

Life and death as similar things.

I understand this better now,

For I love her, though she is gone.

I still see her in year’s first frost

And hear her voice in springs first dawn.

And awesome news about the twins - bit of a shock I guess, but very many congratulations! All the best to both you and your wife - hope everything goes well for you.

I do understand that life will be very busy for you for the foreseeable future, but I'll try to keep a barstool warm for you at the FireLotus tavern - love to see you if you can make it from time to time!!

Ahhh that is such a beautiful poem Trapper. So bittersweet. I loved it. Congratulations on your new babies.
I know you will be very busy for a few years well quite a few years lol, but as they get older then you will have a few moments here and there. Best wishes you and your family.

 

Congratulations . I have 3 kids and trust me when i say if it was not for )Ultima 1-9)an online games i would have pulled my hair out.You will find the time too play while the kids nap i found i was unable to sleep/nap Ultima online and friends helped me a lot (Night Owl).Good Luck

 

Trapper! Hate to hear that you are possibly leaving us for a short time, you know you'll be back though! Congrats of course are in order for the happy news, and that is great work on the writing. The community will be diminished without you, make sure you return

it was nice having you on here for the time you were, Congratulations on the twins! I hope everything works out for you, and eventually well see each other again here, or over at Archeage! Trust me raising kids is no small chore, my only outlet for awhile on recreation was UO, and other video games while they slept! I could'nt afford to do anything else during those times! They are expensive but are also worth it! Cherish the times you are able to spend with them because when they hit 12 or 13, the are too tied up in there friends an dont have time for us, until about 17 or 18 when they need us again! lol! So cherish those moments and good luck to you and your family.
