[Need More Info] Linux client crashes while loading at startup

    1. Title: Linux client crashes while loading at startup
    2. Reproducible? yes
    3. Blocker? yes
    4. Details: game client crashes each time I launch while it's loading the first scene. I have tried resume (in Ardoris) and also tried starting on the map.
    5. Steps to Reproduce: Launch game from Steam
    6. User Specs: (RAM, CPU, GPU and Operating System only)
    12 GB RAM
    AMD® Fx(tm)-8350 eight-core processor × 8
    NVIDIA Corporation GP104 [GeForce GTX 1070]
    Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS

    @Guido DeVille, linux clients in general are not crashing, it's just you. your specs look sufficient. since you're playing from steam, try their repair files option. also make sure your nvidia drivers are up to date.

    Hey thank you for your response.

    I already did the local file integrity check with steam and it checked out okay so I completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game and still had / have the issue. the load screen gets stuck on "ardoris: building map.. 50%" just as before and the music sputters every once in a while until the client crashes.

    My OS, software and drivers are all completely up to date. [​IMG]

    You may want to check the system logs (/var/log/kern or run "dmesg"). I'm guessing the system is hitting an out of memory (OOM) state and killing the game.

    what shawn said, but also unity has logs at
    ~/.config/unity3d/Portalarium/Shroud of the Avatar/

    (and 12GB IS low for linux, despite what the official min specs are.)
