    Mailbox item for houses (mailslot for row houses, just fit it onto the door same way you fit a basement hatch to the floor). Every week a newsletter about what's going on in the game is pushed into the box. Also used for sending letters to/from players, and receiving official mail/items.

    i think they are goign to have a form of announcement system like a bulletin board. maybe youc an leave private messages that way? i dunno, knight marshals and above own their own mailbox so they can send private letters to people. i figure knight marshals because they are prominent in protecting the royalty directly above them.

    i wanna buy a rubber duckie for my hot tub.

    Bit of a waste keeping it for a handful of people when you could sell it to many tens of thousands more.

    It's the sort of thing everyone will want, massive opportunity there.

    yes, massive opportunity, but i think they're trying to stay away from it overall for spam purposes.

    i have heard that you can (will be able to) write letters on parchment and somehow get them to people..

    It does make sense though. It's the sort of thing everyone will want and use, putting that in the addon store is like writing a blank cheque.

    I certainly do not disagree, but I think the fight against spam/botting/gold selling is more important than mail. Same premise for no zone chat and I'm very happy with that decision

    Only way this could be an argument is if nobody is able to send mail to anyone. If mail can be sent then goldsellers can send mail too, with or without us having access to a mailbox on our door.

    You could make it so you can only send mail to another mailbox from a house with a mailbox, and when the mail is sent it comes with a return address - that way not only do the goldsellers have to own a house, but the mail they send will be traceable back to their house and they can be booted for being a nuisance.

    This would actually make it an anti-goldseller tool.

    So if there's mail, make a mailbox an addon in the addon store and profit.

    There can be some very creative ways to limit it to legit players without making it too obtrusive. I just hope they find a good compromise, as this really isn't a black or white issue.

    already working on a brewing crafting station, which will also include a still and possibly even a tool of prosperity later on.

    The should popup one of those graphics you have to type the squiggly letters from. It would eliminate spam and only be a minor inconvenience for us.
