Just wanting to minimize the download & the time to get Shroud running on the new PC....

Is it possible/viable to run the the launcher on the new PC to create the folders required for Shoud
& to back up all the relevant files on the old PC to an external drive
& then dump them all in the same folder set up on the new PC?

If you're talking about shroud files they should just carry over. I recently got a new computer and since it was more powerful and I had put shrouds on an SSD for me the download was pretty fast.

Even easier out of steam - just copy the install folder over and create a shortcut to the launcher.

yes. not sure what the right path is on windows, but you can search for the .torrent files on the old machine to find it.

On my Windows 10 this is the path:
    Code:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Portalarium\Shroud of the Avatar\Downloads\"
There will be several files in this folder. The latest torrent and patch are:
    Code:
    "StandaloneWindows_818_819.torrent"
    and
    "StandaloneWindows_818_819.sotapatch"
You may or may not see the .torrent / .sotapatch depending on how your pc is setup to show extensions.

This is the folder where the patch files go and where the launcher runs files.

If you run into issues, message me on Discord and I will try to help.

You guys are neglecting the Windows registry, and any dll's/etc. that may have been put elsewhere during the install.
My recommendation would be to simply install SotA fresh from scratch on the new PC.
That's the safest way to be certain you're not missing anything (especially the registry entry's).

If you copy it over and then Launch the client the patcher will recreate the entries for the game. It compares what is on your machine and updates as needed so if you played yesterday or last year you get the files you need. If it can not find the files it will start a fresh install.

btw congratz on the new machine.
