To be honest, and personally speaking, I don't think males should have a say in how women choose to dress. We've been told for centuries how women should act and clothe themselves. All the way from burkas to porn magazines.

Now, women may want to look like a porn queen for attention, but I really don't think in a game of this nature it is desirable, for the sake of the ambiance of the game.

There are far, far more outlets for that experience.

Edit: I haven't noticed a single thread talking about sexual objectification of men.....

There have been made comments in that regard in this thread.

I would point out again though that given what we've seen from the developers so far.. this is really a non-issue and no one here is disagreeing with the OP.

    "Burkas" now that sounds Hot!
"Burkas are a Great Idea Lady Caliya"!
Wow I'm glad you reminded me:oops:
Like maybe wear the burka when I have my chr outside and then be able to change her into one of those I dream of Jeannie belly dancing outfits and dance around with all the pets in the Knight's castle. I'd even say that I'd buy another account for that :D
And ya, ya, I get what your sayin' too Sir Bowen, I'd have to wait till Public Release...ummm 99 or something, to get any nose twitching action and I guess the bottle trick would be way out of the question hu?:(

That's because men aren't sexually objectified in videogames. Men are the ones in full armor by default.
If you take a stance that permits all or no realism, then you'll never reach a useful conclusion. What's important is relative realism. Within the constructs of the game world, where magic is real and where people devote entire skill trees to armor wearing, is it realistic to get the same defense out of an armored bra that you would get out of a suit of armor?

"relative realism" <---<<< well put indeed! Leave it to a bard to give something a good perspective:D

Ya' know, I was thinking about what's been said here and I'm ok with the realism we have thus far. (minus the wrenched Poor NPC's, you'd think our towns would show more compassion and charity than that).

I know we're going to have some "Rainbow Bright Girls" showing up that (for whatever reason) want to stand out in a more skinfull way. But I'm not so hip on the idea of some half naked anything, while I'm walking the streets. I mean, "when does the décor not match, or collide with the scene setting"?
Can I experience more immersion with less cloths on people? And if we ever get more robust chr sizes, "monexter" better keep fit or his festive suit I'm certain we may not want to seeo_O I mean, can you Imagine his bikini undies or dare I say "codsack" when it disappears under some rolls? I mean, it's a brave look no doubt, but do I want to ride double anywhere with him? Ya' know, "Templar Style"?o_Oo_O
It's food (or something) for thought...

Exactly. And it should never have to be an issue for women either, for the very same reasons.

There's no way every group and their interests are going to be satisfied. That is true for life as well as this game.

That was traditional battle garb for the Spartans (excepting for the crazy leather pants and boots). They were very successful in battle! Sexy too! ;)

I like big axes, and Honesty is a virtue. ;)

Seriously, I can enjoy cheesecake with the best of them in fantasy art, but I agree that more realistic armor styles for both men and women characters are preferred. One of the things I -REALLY- enjoyed in the Dragon Age titles (particularly Origins and Awakening) was how styled and awesome the female armors looked, especially the high level Dwarven set you pick up in a thaig.

The Warden just looked all kinds of badass rocking that suit, both male and female. It was also nice to see how Bioware included less, shall we say, "pretty as a model" facial features and options in many of their games. Sure, if you want to play that, all good. But give the battle hardened scarred veteran look for someone who's been through 10x of hell, versus looking like Barbie just got done with her makeover before wading through a field of battle. :D

When I walk around like that in SoTA, battles won't be necessary. Women and men will be too busy objectifying me :)
But yeah like previously said the spartans did have a good run back then! However they relied on the formation...

Seriously though, I'm hoping we'll have a lot of choice in customizing our looks: I'd be happy with a practical and realistic approach. Armor is there to protect the critical parts after all. Clothing-wise I think it's there to cover the critical parts as well :)

Instead of a 'bottle trick', we could just have a 'genie bottle' themed house made available in the addon store..

It would have to be instanced, and I don't think there's much chance of that! ;)

This reminds me of how I look forward to being able to change my look over time.. I believe they're going to implement shops that allow you to reconfigure your character's appearance in the next episode, which will help me to show character development during gameplay!

Actually, I was thinking of a house shaped like a gigantic bottle! Could be fun.. and it could be just an exotic variation of the mage house.

Oh, okay I feel you now! I was thinking of a huge empty lot with a teeny tiny little bottle or lamp in the middle of it.
