They always have yielded worms :) - however i am wondering if its location related to the noclay aspect

I was mining clay in the Kiln Cistern recently and always got clay...no worms...lol. This time I mined 8 or 9 clay nodes and got 2 worms each, no clay. Go figure. :) I just thought it was weird to not get any clay at all, but perhaps that's by design since the nodes were near where the guard is fishing.

It looks like this is intended.

Thanks for the reply, but it seems weird to mine clay nodes, but get no clay. That would be like cutting trees and getting no wood or mining copper but only getting granite. :)

I honestly think this is reversed in that you should get the clay with a chance to get worms, not get the worms and *maybe* get clay. Please reconsider and revisit this.

A similar problem is here, only you get nothing. I've seen this situation as well:

I think this instance (getting only worms and no clay) could be due to an introduction to fishing for this NUE scene. I haven't tested much in this new scene yet, but I think Darkstarr mentioned there is going to be a fishing quest here... so perhaps this is meant to provide worms for fishing without weighing down the player with clay in this early stage of the NUE?

I have mined quite a few clay nodes in the outskirts area, all over the map, and only once got any clay. I really think it's askew and the drop rate for clay needs to be fixed.

i'm not so sure i agree, given the intent of the scene. what are newbies going to do with clay? vases and clay pipes? and it's heavy.

Sure I understand your point. They can sell it off perhaps? Trees give wood, cotton plants give cotton, animals give hide or leather, etc. It just strikes me as odd that clay nodes rarely if ever give clay in this scene. If the primary intent of the clay nodes is to find worms, then in this scene perhaps instead of the tool tip *Mine Clay* it should read *Find Worms*?

Anyway, I think I've said enough about my view! In the scheme of things I may be too nit-picky here and off base.

Previously, clay resource nodes yielded clay and sometimes worms. The clay nodes in Solace Bridge Outskirts are special and should always yield at least one worm, and maybe (but not always or even often) some clay. Worms are arguably more important to a new player than the clay resource, and we have a "catch a fish" quest in SBO that includes a suggestion to dig into the clay nodes for worms.

yes, so would you consider changing the tooltip for those nodes?

I think it's not different enough to warrant a name change, but I'll keep the suggestion in mind.

Fair enough. I've changed the title to *Intended*.
