NPC Titles and Player Titles... why don't they match?

    Long NPC names like...

    Gabrielle Townsend the Adventurer Trainer​

    take up a lot of screen space, especially at a distance. Players, on the other hand, have a separate line with a varied font size (and sometimes color) for their title...

    Outlander
    ImaNewbie

    Royal Ancestor
    ImaDufus    ​

    How about some title consistency? Why not treat NPC titles the same as Player titles?

    Think players will get confused with who is a Player and who is a NPC? How about a different color?

    Good idea and I'll see going forward how to make that happen. In general NPC titles do not have a great deal of consistency.

    Maybe not! I'm thinking something on the order of

    if you do not know the NPC's name -- as it is now
    if you learn the NPC's name -- toggle (on our side) to display unlearned name as title

    so in the above example, Gabrielle Townsend the Adventurer Trainer would have the name Adventurer Trainer before you learned her name. Most trainer/merchant NPCs are set up like this already.

    The man loves taking care of fictional characters. I think they complain less than Avatars ;)
