NPC's & Guards killing cats in Towns?

BREAKING NEWS

Local governments and citizens across New Britannia have taken to the streets to rid their kingdoms of felis silvestris. Kill on Sight orders have been issued and bounties set in an attempt to destroy the festering plague that inhabits these disgusting creatures. This unnamed infections disease that previously affected only cats and making them appear immortal is now spreading to Outlanders... and not in a good way. Be a responsible citizen! See a cat, kill a cat. It's not just your duty, it's the law.

 

Please make it possible to kill the guards that do this.
I would like a 1500 g bounty on the heads of all guards that kill cats.

I think this should be reported to PETA or the ASPCA in Brittany.

 

Yes, I'm aware of the brief mention of killing cats in the notes, but took it to mean Avatars could choose to kill cats as it states "...you can now kill cats." Did not think Guards/NPC's would be killing them in Towns. They (Guards/NPC's) do not kill any other animals in Towns.

Really? I was hoping this was going to be rolled into lore... maybe they're infected with something that causes them to appear immortal but now they're infecting Outlanders (could explain the death penalty - it's a nasty kitty virus). I liked the story better when I thought this was residents of New Britannia helping Outlanders.

 

I , as others, are horrified at the thought that this game which is based on being virtuous in living in game could tolerate even the thought of killing an innocent and defenseless animal on purpose. In the world of earth it is known that many people who kill domesticated animals such as a dog or a cat often become murderers. Killing for the purpose of eating is one thing but going out of your way to kill just for the the fun of watching death is absolutely crazy and uncalled for!
I love to go hunting in this game. I try to kill the bad guys. Cats and dogs are not the bad guys. The mean guys in the towns should be put in jail or punished. But why would a city have a guard to protect them from the evil men be allowed to continue to work as a guard if they are killers of cats and dogs? The next step is for a guard to think its great to have the head of a child to put on the wall!
I can see that a bad guy may attack innocent life but they are usually known for being the bad guy and needing to be stopped. Why would you institute that kind of behavior on purpose in a game where you are looking for lost virtues? I would see that if the guards can do that then they can not protect me and I would move away from that town!!!

 

Please don't fix this till monday! This might be the funniest bug yet! I wanna watch the chaos for awhile

Let's patch it out today.
We've had 4 patches in the last 24 hrs. one more won't be that bad.
Stop the CAT-astrophe or you may start finding these guards bodies in the swamp.

 

There is a lone cat out in the hills of Desolis that has managed to escape the guards. I hope that's some consolation. I call him Meowbi Wan Kenobi.

 

I am happy to report that Nibs in Kingsport was not being attacked this morning.

Clearly this shows that the residents of Kingsport are much more refined and respect cats.

 

Is there maybe a cat flu that the authorities are trying to cover up? hmmm....
